Is there a particular reason you didn’t feel like pulling over the new caddy that was right in front of you, that stopped at 3 traffic lights and braked for every turn, clearing showing you it had a brake light out? Since our marry little parade was doing 5 under the speed limit I doubt you were on your way to some urgent call. I thought maybe it was in the interest of public safety that you didn’t want to pull him over on the curves on N. Forest. Then when he turned onto W. Klien and you followed, I thought for sure I’d see the lights come on. One block… two blocks… nothing yet. Caddy is braking, signal on, turning down a side road. The drivers side brake light is still clearly not lit. He turns, you go straight.
I wonder what would have happened had it been a kid in Honda with rims not a Caddy driven by an old man. /sarcasm
BTW: I was a couple cars back, watching all this. I’m not saying exactly how many cars back I was for fear of getting a “plate mounted .0002 inches too high”, or “violation of section 103-3432-B, pointing out officer being lazy” ticket or some other BS.
^ but still, brake lights are a safety feature. could have pulled him over for a fix-it ticket. Protect and serve!
Protecting other drivers by making sure they know when Caddy guy is braking
serving the Caddy guy by making sure that he doesn’t get rear-ended. (unless he’s into that kind of thing)
I guess you didn’t read the whole thing. The caddy turned, the cop went straight.
Exactly. Or even just pull him over, tell him about the brake light, and let him off with a warning. Chances are the guy has no clue the light is even out.
Wait…now we’re complaining about people not getting pulled over? :gotme:
Come on guys, I can see if you got pulled over for something that was less deserving of a ticket while the cop was seeing that brake light out, but if that was you in the caddy and you got pulled over, you’d be bitchin about it.
:word: personally I don’t run a front plate, and if they’re gonna pull people over for brake lights theyd just as soon get me. No thanks.
A lot of the time like that, they just pull you over for the small detail if they’re fishing for something big to nail you on, or they just wanna check things out. With an old guy in a caddy, good chance theres nothing there.
of course anybody would be bitching about it, but thats not the point. the cop clearly saw that the brake light was out. and if he didnt, well there ya go…a cop not doing his job. i know i have been pulled over for the most rediculous things, but i respect the cop for doing his job and some of the things that they got me for, well i dont blame them. lol
and for the comment above. i agree with u and disagree. thats not how the system works, “hm lets see if i can find something to pull this guy over for”. if its something so obvious then they should just pull him over and stop waiting for something thats gonna get their name in the news.
cop probably was thinking that if the caddy did something else, he would tack on the brake light, but the cop was probably on his way to do something. (timmy hos?)
bah, cops are retarded and they pull people over for stuid things, but It’s not like this guy was doing anything major that warranted the cop to stop him"right this minute" if he had something else to do. Not all cops are on duty and or doing traffic stops…
bitch about the police when they screw you over, not when they dont screw someone else over for something so small as a brake light.
Youve obviously never gotten the infamous APD “Pull over for being a teen driving a nice car late at night.” I got 3 of those from age 16-18. The worst of which, being when I was driving my dad’s old '95 Vette @ age 17 at 4am. I got followed for 3 miles and then pulled over for “putting my signal on too early.” This apparently was cause for him to give me a sobriety test, and then want to search my car for “being hostile and having something to hide”, because I asked him why, exactly, he pulled me over.
He was under the impression that, because my dad’s name and middle initial, is the same as mine and I’m not a junior, I sold drugs and owned a corvette.
Nevermind, I figured it out. The cop was too busy working on the massive drug dealer problem that Bill Kindel is sure Amherst has and is ranting about at town board meetings (between his racial slurs against Satish that is).
wow what a dick!
see thats the kind of stuff to complain about
Happend to me once with my vette too. So its not just the imports that get pulled over. I got hassled on transit by NY Troopers…
cops: “whos car is this?”
me: mine
cops: where do you work?
me: right down the road there * point to delta*
cops: wow i need to get a job there sarcastic
me: look, I just sold my other car and had been saving for this for a while
cops: well GOOD FOR YOU
as the two cops proceeded to walk around my car and told me I ran a red light and asked me if i had been drinking…Yeah they left without giving me a ticket cause they knew i didnt…douche bags.
no i got it a few weeks ago from a trooper out here. i was pulled over for speeding. i got my ticket and when i read my deposition, he had put an incorrect statement. and being the idiot that i am, i called him out on it. now thats a bad idea, especially when u know damn well that it isnt going to do anything. well that lead to him pulling me out of my truck and putting me in cuffs in broad daylight and ripping my truck apart for reasonable suspect of stolen property. in the end he didnt find shit gave me my speeding ticket and left me on the side of the road with my shit thrown everywhere. so i guess u could say cops are assholes huh?
