lol… so your travels have included other parts of NY, as well as shittier parts of PA and maybe even the far off distant land of shitty OH?
You don’t have to be Fry and have a passport with as many stamps as James Bond, but when you say you travel it should at least include a lot of airline miles, even if they’re within the US.
The sheer number of hotel rooms – regardless of quality – also poses a problem for Western New York sports fans. The Sabres would love to host the NHL’s All-Star Game, but not having proper lodging has been the biggest issue.
Ottawa tourism officials estimated the region booked 7,000 hotel room nights for last weekend’s All-Star Game. The latest data from Smith Travel Research shows 1,803 rooms in downtown Buffalo and 9,163 in Erie County.
This story humors me. Brady is totally right, who wants to stay at a hotel that has view of the skyway? Also, he would be crazy to take up the people of the mansion on their 1 night stay offer. I’m sure he would be way too nervous that they would spit in his food or have to sleep with one eye open.
I think it’s overblown, but for the people that like living here, it’s understandable that they’d be upset. He was talking about his dad traveling to watch the games. I don’t know where he usually puts his dad up, but I imagine it’s one of the hotels near the airport. He’s probably not putting him up in The Mansion or The Roycroft. People get upset because it perpetuates the stereotype that Buffalo sucks. I imagine his dad had to tough it out in some pretty crappy hotels when Tom was at Michigan, but I suppose it’s just easier to just put a dig on Buffalo.
I put over 35K per year on my truck and have over 100K airline miles and I don’t really feel as if I travel often lol.
Buffalo hotels are lacking. I can count on one hand the number of places I’d consider “nice”. We probably have as many “nice” hotels in my neighborhood as the entire city of Buffalo. This isn’t a bad thing…just saying.
Buffalo isn’t exactly a tourist destination, hence there are not many accommodations.
Also, think about what is between the airport and the stadium in OP. They’re not going to use the Marriott near UB, it’s the complete opposite direction from the stadium.
Shit happens, the dude is a prick. Get over it.
Oh and BTW, I really enjoyed having the NHL All Star Game in Raleigh last year.
yeah, there are definitely some decent hotels up by UB (Marriott, Hotel Indigo, Comfort Inn Suites, etc…), but like I said, they are pretty damn far from the stadium and the traffic is probably a nightmare getting to OP from Amherst on game day.
Pretty phenomenal showing. Tickets were brutally expensive. There was a huge all-weekend festival put on in downtown Raleigh, and some large thing went on down at the convention center.
Meh, I always thought the miles I put on were high considering its double what my parents and friends put on their cars…but of course those that get off on having to be right had to prove me wrong. Lol
My point was that I have been to many other areas and cities, and those that think wny sucks are living day to day with their blinders on having no idea what we have in this area or what kind of growth the area is actually experiencing right now. I suppose the majority have no idea what kind of growth their is in our already large healthcare industry or the fact that were currently #3 in the amount of construction in the country right now
Buffalo is like that hot girl who got fat and ugly. Sure, she’s joined the gym now and is promising to get it all back, but to any stranger she’s still fat and ugly. This is how Buffalo looks to those from the outside…
