im gonna put a camaro SS 3 piece spoiler on it to finish up the body…
my spoiler now…
the SS spoiler…
IMO that will make the front end, and the rear end complete…as far as my rims go, im gonna keep them untill i find something I really like…I honestly want a 3" lip in the back and a 1.5 in the front…but rims are Expensive…and they are the last thing im going to change.
besides, if i were to buy different rims…they would either be these ones…
or these…
what?! if your opinion is that his car would look better if he did certain things than it is constructive criticism.
constructive criticism = opinion
SS spoiler and berger panel FTW
this would look good to hide the FMIC. Its a street scene grill painted black
i wouldnt say were bashing his car. bashing would be like “gtfo of here you stupid ricer, noobzilla” and the like. we’re all basically saying what WE’d do to it if it were up to us. he does what he does. as long as you like how it looks and what it does, its all good, right? :nod
i agree with Johawk on the black mesh there. if only it could be more fine. does anyone remember the mesh i had in my eclipse? MAN! it was fine enough to literally stop mosquitoes, but it breathes just fine. something like that would completely hide that intercooler :ninja you hit that with some flat black and ur good to go. i definitely think that the SS spoiler would look right on that car. it would balance out the taller front, because of the scoops. it’d look nice if you got the same mesh everywhere in the bumper and in the hood scoops, so itll all match and look uniform. personally, im a fan of darker wheels, so like a dark grey, gunmetal, or black chrome(whatever you want to call it) would look quite nice with a big flat lip. doesnt necesarily have to be chrome, polished or maybe just machined. a silver lip might work too with the red. i think the dark tails are ok, but they should probably be more of an accent to window tint. it’d all flow together nice with tint, black tails, dark rims, black mesh upfront and such. thats just me though. i prefer uniform things, nice and smooth, which is what i did to my car.
That mesh will keep stones and such from bending the fins on the IC to. I like the black on the panel bellow the trunk and above the bumper as in the pic with the SS spoiler. They call that the berger panel and it looks good painted black on bright colored cars. Removal of the side molding cleans up the camaro’s doors a bit too. Im not sure if I like the tinted tails but if they were polished up they would look better. That tint always dries to a satin finish. :wtf The hood does look good from the side but I think the bigger spoiler and maybe vette rims would better tie in the big scoops like everyone is saying. If you wanted a sleeper I dont think you would have bought that hood
Here is my Formula with Vette rims for reference
so constructive critisism is an opinion now
uhhhh ya… explain how it’s not
Yes please plaf, explain.
BTW that Formula looks sweet with those C5 wheels :thumb
I got tired of people mistaking for a V6 car so the wheels were the easiest thing to change. It was funny to see the look on the face of the kid in the SRT4 when he asked if it was a V6 tho. Then there is Andrew’s V6 Camaro that probably would have stomped my LS1 6 speed car…
i suppose u could use a nice scotch pad on those tails and just use some clearcoat and wetsanding and itll look proper
Some rubbing compound and Meguire’s Plast-X polish does a great job
I had a aftermarket metal grill on my car when I had my smaller intercooler on…Theirs a reason why I dont have a grill on the front, and its because i DONT want to hide it…and i would rather not paint it black
A flashy FMIC doesn’t fit your car at ALL. It looks hella tacky, IMO. If you like it though, keep it.
I personally think, new wheels with some dish would make a world of difference for the car.
As far as FMIC, that’s personal preference, IMO it would look good either way. Anybody want to 'chop it with a black one?
Boosting, don’t forget, if you’re doing it to make sure people know it’s turbo, it’s an uphill battle.
People who are not into cars will just think it’s a big radiator.
People who are into cars will know it’s turbo from - spool, blow off, blacked out radiator, or just the fact that they know it’s a V6 and they see it move out it’s own way :lol
I beg to differ…your the first one to say that
How many people asked you why you have such a big radiator by now?
Thats not it at all…it says “turbocharged” on my rear bumper and on each side of my hood scoop’s…so people obv. know whats going on…I dont want to cover up the intercooler because Im trying to shoot for a very aggressive front end look and IMO, I already achieved that…if I were to go cover up my intercooler, then that would take away some of the aggressiveness. I want people to be like O shit, that car looks mean…
When I started building my car a little over a year ago with the turbo setup…I was shooting for a Show/quick/different car…and At the precision car show last year, they ended up bumping me up to the Wild class and I came in 5th place next to some very exotic cars…and my hood wasnt even painted then…it deff. gets people’s attention, and thats what I was shooting for…however, I must say now im getting more out of the show department and am heading more towards speed…when my motor blows up (it will sooner or later) Im building that bitch inside and out to handle 30psi of boost.
actually, No one…and im not just saying that. I have actually had older guys walk up to me and ask if it was turbo or supercharged (before I had the turbocharged badges on) and I would say turbo and ask how they knew…and they would reply, well your intercooler isnt exactly hidden…I have gotten that prolly about 4-5 times. I myself just dont want to hide it…i love the look of the front end with the intercooler sitting there…i could careless whether other’s know what it is.
FMIC is more for function than looks (in most cases). Your car is red and black (trim, windows, and tail lights)… an unpainted FMIC just sticks out like a sore thumb. It’s comparable to a body builder with giant buck teeth.
I would get black housing headlights, change the hood, hide the FMIC and slam it on some new wheels… thats what I would do to make your car look mean.
TOTALLY my opinion though.
