took photo's with new digital of the camaro

That engine needs some cleaning. You could get the stock radiator support from a LT1 car. Get it for cheap at most junk yards and it will clean it up alot

or trim the upper rad support and aim rad straight up and get more clearance all the way around

I think it looks way better painted black, but I still think you should cover it with some non-ricey black mesh. Not only will it look better, it will protect the IC from road debris

use a radiator that is 15.5tall x 27.5 wide and it will tuck under the support verticle and be completely out of the way. You will have plenty of room and would look alot cleaner

Please take careful attention of the radiator in this 700+whp Turbo Camaro

He also did F-body wire tuck. Im doing mine right now

yah I actually have that radiator in my parts list I made to buy in the spring LOL…I didnt know you could actually hide the whole thing tho…that looks sooo nice…

the diamond plate is a support for my radiator…I already pulled it 2" forward after taking my AC out and everything…If I take off the diamond plate, that radiator is gonna rest on my IC piping.

There is a thread on LS1 tech on the radiator issue and the use of the shorter one to fit flush under the rad support. That camaro still has funtioning AC as well. He has the OFI single turbo kit I want but I might have Synapse do the charge piping when the time comes cause I like the way the Incon kit runs the pipes… heres the link: LS1TECH flush mount radiator thread

yah thats where I got the radiator from…I already read that thread.

also, how the hell can I clean up my engine??? Its so dirty from driving it this winter and everything getting through my hood scoops.

remember that stainless mesh i was talking about? :nod

my hood scoops have black stainless mesh on it…you can only see it up close…im talking about from road salt and stuff and no mesh is gonna stop that.

we move to cali to escape the salt! :thumb

fuck Cali and its 91 octane

Engine Degreaser, water, and some towels.

Be careful

yeah and wait til the engine isnt at running temp :lol

im with ben on this one

Simple Green works good but I would dilute it at least 50/50 and dont spray it on any of the engine bay stickers like the ones on the fuse boxes and such cause it takes the ink off the labels. Use an old paint brush to loosen up the deep grime and rinse thoroughly. When youre done you will want to wash the car cause that crap gets everywhere. Pressure washers work great too. Unlike alot of imports or LT1s these cars dont mind a good dousing of water as long as you dont have a cracked coil pack or something. If you do then it needed to be replaced anyway

i just go to hoffmans. let car cool off a bit hit with high press. soap and then hit it with there green degreaser. i let it sit wash the rest of car and then rinse the entire thing off and woola instant clean engine bay. i hit mine twice a year and it looks brandy new still under the hood!!

I can spray water under the hood with my turbo? Wont it make the hotside of my turbo almost rust within a day or 2??

i spray under mine all the time. just whe turbo is cooled of at home shoot it up with sum sort of spray i would imagine.

that would be a better ? for the turbo guys. plus if i were to own turbos i’m pretty sure they both would be ceramic coated. ;D

You drive it in the rain right? That water will dry off in no time if you drive it afterwards. If your engine wasnt too bad Hank’s procedure works great for maintenance. You want to detail that thing so youre gonna need to put some work into it. You should probably put something over the filter/turbo to keep water out of the intake.
To dry it off you can towel dry… make sure engine is cool, You can air dry with an air compressor or with a leaf blower. Im not a fan of the leaf blower but some people say it gives great results

I will use a leaf blower since we own a landscaping company and own 3 big ass ones lol…thats how I dry my quad and shit in the summer…takes 2 seconds.
