And I don’t mean like scariest make you jump kinda lame ass horror flicks bit creepy mess with your mind, stick with you for a few days or ruin your childhood kind of movies. For me-
Pet semetary. Saw it when I was around 10, ruined me for like a whole summer. Between the student that gets hit by the bus coming back to him with half of his face missing, to the part with the sister (Christ I still remember her name was Zelda) the flashback their neighbor has about the guy that was burried there, the kid coming back… Fuck. If you’ve never seen it, watch it
The shining- the little girls, the lady in the tub, Jack losing his mind, the elevators filled with blood… Again, not something a 10 year old should watch
House of 1000 corpses- even as hokey and kinda low brow this flick was, it’s still kind of sad how desperately that girl wants to live. Plus the weird ass underground thing that huge guy eating cereal and the guy making Dwight schrute into a merman…
Beaches- Bette Midler puts a spin on homosexuality even Elton John has struggled with, like a Neon trying to tow a Lincoln Town car up a steep hill
Driving Miss Daisy- drive the fucking car and shut the fuck up, I wouldnt trust this mother fucker with my purse on an elevator let alone giving him the ability to plow my old wrinkly white ass into a tree… man what a fucking waste of script
The Joy luck club- god I have watched several family members die of pancreatic cancer and wouldnt wish it on anyone, unless they were in this film, the only piece of garbage that is bigger and stinkier is this site
honorable mention-
#1- Schindlers List-
problems with the film-
#1- theres only one person named “Oscar” in my mind and the plot line totally betrays the role of “grouch”, was " Dave" or “Miguel” already taken???
#2- if your going to make bullets for fucks sake make them work= fail
…
disappointment
#2- Philadelphia
problems with the film-
#1- alot of mournful gasping sounds but none by the fortune telling maching “Zoltan”
#2- lots of depressing mention of Human Acquired Immune Deficency Syndrome but no mention of a beach ball named “Wilson” nor was this a sequel of “The Burbs”
Favorite film of all time, and it never ceases to amaze me. I first saw it about 2 weeks after “Twister” came out, I was probably 7 or so.
Knowing — I am a horror buff and this is not horror, but a few things from that movie stuck in my mind for a few days after seeing it. Movies that portray the end of the world creep me out a bit.
Another one I just thought of- the machinest with Christian bale messed with my head. I was sick and super drugged up on nyquil when I watched it, but still…
X2 that movie scared and creeped me out more than the shining.
Silent hill even though not scary when the lady is in the room in the dark and the lights flicker on and all those ghosts people that was creepy. Also at the end with the fire and the sacrifice lady just was not right. Throughout the whole movie no sense of time or even that there is outside life kinda creepy as well. Sorry for poor writing I’m doing this on my phone and just thought of it.
for real though Poltergeist , when I saw it I was about the age of the boy in the movie, god that tree trying to eat that kid scared the shit out of me
