Top Gear S.22: Clarkson Fired -> Amazon -> The Grand Tour [Nov 18th]

I don’t think anyone actually expected them to retire completely, we all knew there would be another project…

Agreed! Stoked to see what happens next.

They’ll be just fine, and we’ll have them on tv (or streaming) for many years to come. I’m actually kind of excited about the change, considering.

C’mon Netflix, get something moving with these guys.

Willman quits BBC, all 4 go out for beers. Something’s brewing…

Top Gear executive producer Andy Wilman (front centre) was also present at the meeting today, just hours before it was sensationally announced he had quit the BBC, in what is another blow for the show

Oh shit…

Jeremy Clarkson and his former Top Gear sidekicks have come up with a “genius” name for their show if they sign to Netflix.

The sacked presenter, James May, Richard Hammond and former executive producer Andy Wilman are negotiating with the online service to create a new version of the motoring series.

And one pal revealed today: “If it goes ahead, they’re planning to call it House of Cars, which is just genius.”

Funny name but I really don’t think it’s a good idea to play off of the name of another successful show in the long run. I’d rather see something original to truly begin a new saga.

Radio interview with Chris Evans: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02rw42m

Richard Hammond: So far, we have had a drag race, and a racing driver called The Ben Collins has done some laps in the car.
Jeremy Clarkson: Yes, but, so far, you still haven’t told us anything about the Corvette Zed-oh-six.
RH: Uh, Zee-oh-six.
JC: Zed.
RH: Zee.
JC: No, Hammond, you are not in America.
RH: Not yet.
[STAGED NERVOUS LAUGHTER]
JC: He said that, didn’t he?
RH: Yeah, that came out.

5min in:

HOCards is a netflix original series, HOCars would be too, so there probably wouldn’t be issues legally, other than it just not being very creative if thats what you meant lol, in which case i agree.

BBC just lost a little bit of $$, eh?

Yeah I wasn’t questioning the legality at all. Just doesn’t seem like the right place to use a pun. Could be a funny sketch within the show, though.

I think with all the politics and BS involved with how the show ended up at Netflix (if it happens) House of Cars is the perfect name for it.

House of Cars here we come?

Next year!?

The idea of Clarkson/Hammond/May with full production control and the BBC’s PC filters turned off has me grinning like an idiot.

Oh yeah. And if you’re looking for a laugh… Top Gear doesn't need Chris Evans. It needs a woman

What a dumb bitch.

Anyone catch the final episode?

This is kinda funny:

God, how do they even allow some of this shit to print…

It was well done. I like the subtle hints throughout the show that Jeremy is gone or is leaving, including the “elephant in the room:”
