Top Gear S.22: Clarkson Fired -> Amazon -> The Grand Tour [Nov 18th]

If Netflix spent 50 million on ONE season of a show that [in the grand scheme of things] people don’t really give a shit about I think its plausible that they would be interested in picking up the trio to start a series of their own. Certainly seems like a wise investment for them to reach new markets they haven’t been able to tap into. Riding the coattails of this hype alone would give them millions of new subscribers.

Yet another petition.

this would be a massive boon for netflix if they landed this… someone basically handing them a free international hit series.

James May reaction

Chris Harris reaction:

I’m like that little, nagging fish constantly nibbling a whale shark’s barnacles. I’m a TG parasite, and it’s worked bloody well for me up to now.

Looks like plans are already in motion.

^ha

I hate how they repeat the same quotes/information roughly 11 times throughout that article.

Mr May said yesterday that the trio ‘came as a package’,

Uhh yeah when the main character gets axed. If May got axed would it still be a trio? Just sayin/wonderin.

Netflix, one of the parties interested in signing Jeremy Clarkson following the ending of his relationship with the BBC, are being reported to have offered him “full control” over any show he creates with them.

:orly:

This could end up being his best career move ever. The article provides no source however…

Three people now absent from the new Top Gear site banner.

subtle

So the BBC has no choice but to fire him from Top Gear, but they can re-hire him a couple weeks later for a different BBC show?

so much for solidarity

It’s not a full time gig, just a one time appearance.

He still has a contract with BBC it just won’t be renewed. And I guess he’s not hosting this show anymore either.

He’s finally written about it:

 to confirmation he’s going to start over. Really hope Hammond and May are along for the ride.

And that article has all the wit and humor that made Top Gear so good.
