Top Gear USA coming to The History Channel

For the people saying it’s horrible, name a better current american car show. Even with all the early problems it’s already the best.

I’d rather watch chasing classic cars… Top Gear is downright terrible.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClpMuf9wWDI&feature=related - lol wtf?

Gay, gay, gay!!! It was boring. I watched the football game, it was more exciting. The show is lacking the humor of the UK version. I would think it would have the same humor, since it carries the Top Gear name, but it is going to be a failboat.

Not impressed. I’ll dvr two more but if it doesn’t improve a lot I see this being a one season wonder.

Why do we need a “good” American car show when there is a perfectly good one on in the UK that we can watch here?

I guess I just dont see why we need another Top Gear that blows when there is already a perfectly good one already on.

The Lamborghini comparo was a great example. UK Top Gear would have had them driving around the streets, sometimes illegally, then trashing the hell out of them chasing each other around the track. Or maybe stig and Clarkson chasing each other etc.

US Top Gear? They do some barely synchronized driving down an arrow straight runway spaced farther apart than I commute on the highway. And their challenge? Take turns going in a perfectly straight line. [sarcasm]Woohoo, amazing TV right there.[/sarcasm]

I’m trying not to pass judgement on the lack of chemistry because they’re new but I just don’t see any of them ever developing a personality that would make me care about their banter.

I set my expectations low, and it was almost as good as the original UK version, but I got the impression that none of them care about cars. It was way to scripted and they can’t drive. I mean how can you make a show with exotic cars and drive slow in straight lines? It’s like they got their balls cut off by the producers.

Call me crazy but the reasonably priced car should have been a domestic. Looked okay though, not bad for a first episode. It is lacking the British accent though. There is a reason as to why all sports use that accent, it just is THE accent.

You tell me that a nissan sucks…and I’m like yeah okay asshole.

But tell me that a DATSUN sucks in a british accent, and I want to hug you for being so right!

See, he gets it!

Haha, right on.

It’s on!

I’ll let the humor and chemistry slide, that didn’t develop overnight for top gear uk. It’s been A LOT of seasons.

The parts I don’t like is that the first challenge was horrible and short, I could blatantly see previous tire tracks on the road during the viper/chopper bit and that NONE of them had anything bad to say about ANY of the cars on the first show. I wish that at least one person would have drove the viper, and then said that it sucked (preferably with a really bad reason for hating). Oh, and the viper bit was an obvious dodge plug. Wonder how many dollars that brought in.

Allways wanted to try an awd car on a ski slope…

I know of a grey one wasting away in a garage just itching to get out.

This episode was better IMO.

I rate episode 1 at 6/10 and episode 2 at 8/10.

Nash pissing on the TG logo was priceless!

Agreed. I was watching top gear apocalypse right before this, and it kinda sucked, gave me a reality check on not every top gear UK episode is awesome either.
