The traditional method for making one’s bed I would believe to be, in order of mattress to top layer:
Mattress pad/egg crate/plastic for the night wetters (Sean)
Elastic-y sheet
Top sheet
Comforter/blanket.
Personally I hate the top sheet unless it’s by itself being used simply as a cover in summer months.
I sleep like so:
mattress pad
elastic sheet
BIG ASS DOWN COMFORTER FTMFW.
makes it so much easier to sleep/less aggrivating twisted sheets, wrinkles, etc.

Winter = top sheet + comforter/thick blanket
I only use 1 blanket, a thin ass sheet for the summer time, and right now have the huge ballintastic comforter on it. I hate having like 2-5 fucking layers, such a clusterfuck

ehhh i have a topsheet on my bed but it pisses me off with it getting twisted and shit…satin sheets slide way too fukkin easily and its hard to keep them on the bed as is.
soo for me it goes:
queen size pillow top mattress
satin elastic-y sheet
satin top sheet
big ass comforter.
(minimum 3 pillows… all with satin pillow cases)

I wash my comforter every two weeks, it usually still smells like fabric softener when I wash it, but the idea of skin eating bacteria/mites freaks me out.
same reason i throw out/replace my mattress pad every couple months, not including washing it every time i do the comforter

Top sheet is much easier to wash than a big ass comforter.
I am a fan of multiple layers, keeps me warm and cozy. Top sheet, blanket, AND big ass comforter.

Just got a heated mattress pad, so I’m a one sheet man now.
i have to have a top sheet. I like the Jersey’s t shirt material sheets.
Then i have a fur blanket
then a heavey knitted quilt
a lighter wool knit blanket
a standard bed comforter and then a huge assed down comforter
I like the blankets to weigh me down when i sleep
king size bed that i share with my 2 mini tigers.
they stole my king size comforter so i resort to 2 regular size blankets.
no top sheet.
