Does anyone have advice on where to stay for going up for a Blue Jays game? There is going to be a small group that will head up on a Tuesday and looking to grab dinner before and then drinks after the game. There will be girls in the group so will probably be looking to be in the city as well for shopping and stuff on Wednesday before heading back.
None of us have been up to Canada in years so any advice where to stay that would be a good way to get to the game and also some places to check out after for a nice dinner and maybe some pubs?
Bumps heading up tonight for a Queens of the Stone Age concert with Gus and Cougarspeed. Any restaurants (cheap, I’m not trying to get laid here) or good hotels in case we lose track of the beer count (Also cheap)? Something relatively close to the ACC
I’ve stayed at the Delta before, and it was awesome. My buddy has crashed at the Drake a few times, and it’s a great place to bring a date/gf/wife for a getaway. Their rooftop bar is awesome.
Stayed here about a year ago with the wife. We had a blast! It was a 30-40 minute walk to ACC. The hotel is a 3 story college type bar/pub attached to a hotel. We looked up reviews beforehand, and they said to get a basement room if you will not be partying until close, which we requested and got. Stayed 2 nights, they gave us $40 of drink tokens and food vouchers for the pub - what I liked about it, is that each floor has 3-4 places to drink, all with different vibes to it. We just kind of walked around until we found the place we felt most comfortable, and then proceeded to get shwasted. It was nice only having to walk next door once we were finished. Couldn’t hear a thing from our room, slept like babies. It was clean, staff was friendly - and there was a ton of cute girls (and some douchy looking frat kids - but that comes with the territory I suppose). There were no fights or weirdness at the bar, everyone was super laid back and friendly…even though we were totally tourists. We walked everywhere, had some great food and the woman did quite a bit of shopping. We didnt plan it, but were in town during some arts festival which was pretty cool.
I don’t think this place is for everyone, but we liked it a lot, so did the other couple we went with. I think the reviews reflect that - most negative comments I saw seemed to come from people who maybe didnt understand what this place was. I also think we payed about $100/night.
Wound up staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on Peter St. in TO. It’s a new hotel and was really nice inside. Checked in and went to the show which was an awesome experience. We all wound up about 6 people deep from the stage.
After we passed a bar randomly called the Loose Moose. How can you not go in a bar like that? Went in and the decor was really nice. The physical bar top extended down the whole place, and the beer selection was plentiful.
and here is my dog wearing the queens of the stone age bandana I got her.
Bump! Heading up to the Rogers Center for a motocross race in March. Anyone stay up there recently? I was looking at the Chelsea, but I have seen some iffy reviews lately. We will also be checking out the new aquarium @ the CN tower. Walking distance to the both of these would be cool, but we could get a cab if need be too…
