Whats amazing about a true private tracker site like What.cd or Waffles.fm, is they care about music. They have lossless FLAC rips of almost every cd ever. But its a community, so you have to share as much as you download, or more. Theres no downloading for days straight and then not seeding when you have what you want.
But i just downloaded ENYA’s new christmas cd in a FLAC rip in under 2 mins… Thats 300mb…
If you can handle MP3’s ripped by some random guy and likely transcoded several times, go ahead and download from wherever. Its easier, but generally slow.
If you dont have a decent connection, dont bother with a private tracker, you wont be able to keep your share up and will get banned, and possibly ban whoever invited you.
Oh, and all the songs are almost allways properly tagged and have good quality artwork.
I don’t use torrents often, only for software. If someone would be willing to send me a what.cd or waffles invite I’d appreciate it and would definitely benefit the community. I’ve been thinking about getting into the music torrents for a while but never found a site that was good.
My ratio on demonoid is 3.29.
Also, I really like demonoid just because you know what you are getting when you grab a torrent. You can’t honestly say that on the public sites such as pirates bay. Also, the seeding is good and consistent.
^ Yea, kinda like demonoid. I had a account for years and never used it. Then i downloaded sone 2-3gb file from there (it was slow as hell) and it never counted towards my download, but i had a few GB upload credit.
There is a method so to speak on getting your ratio to update…it’s not 100% but it’s your best bet at getting it to register properly (assuming you care)
I don’t even care over on Demonoid, I treat that site the same way I treat all other public ones. Download at will and delete after completion (typically though after deletion upload is already 1:1)
I wouldn’t mind a what.cd login/invite. I’ve stuffed a 500G drive full at my house, and my ratio lives right at 1.1-1.2:1. 116G down/131 up here at work. If you’ve still got any to give out, I’d appreciate it.
