EDIT: Just Fucking Google IT
your best bet is that theyre network admin is a dummy.
hes prolly not tho.
He probably is if he hasn’t secured his wifi.
there’s also a tech shool in the same complex. it’s erie 1 boces. it could be free for the students. i don’t really know.
if i do log in the router and give my IP to the port, would that be blatantly obvious to the admin. i’d rather not mess up a good thing for a copy of photoshop and a bootleg of FF7 advent children. know what i mean?
i shouldnt have to explain, you should know it’s just all around better
yes it would be, and he’ll also have ur mac address logged, which is the physical address of your computer
ur wrong i run windows, but prefer linux 10000x better. OS-X is also very good but i dont have a mac so i suck
EDIT: linux and OS-X are both unix based so essentially theyre the same thing
The linux kernel is based on unix, while osx has a BSD kernel which IS unix. Sounds the same but they are different.
:word: ur right, ide say that the two operating systems in general are extremely similar when using(depending on distro). SUSE linux is a good example
Back on-topic… Azureus (or any other BT program) should still work with the port closed, it just won’t let you share the file… While that sounds like a Good Thing, with BT it actually isn’t because if you don’t upload any of the file it will limit how fast you are able to download.
If u dont share it at all it will take u forever to download
tools > options > connection > incoming tcp listen port.
change it to 10032. ports 6881-6999 are heavily monitored and the admin will quickly realize what is happening. you’ll only be able to initiate your own connections (can’t accept connections initiated by others) without port forwarding, but you can still dl. just not as fast as you otherwise would be able to…
damn we need a fucking torrent FAQ…
