he should start to do some weight reduction now such as AC if not already, gutting the rear, CF hood, CF hatch, and you will be good to go :thumb

If you get a cable tranny and mounts with the motor and the car is already OBD1, then it is more or less a “drop in” motor swap.

wow thats sick, how much did the whole setup run him, if I infact do that I’m not gonna buy some built tranny though, the itr motor would be sick, but thats alot more than the grs motor I’ve seen the gsr motors for like $1k, if I get 4000-5000 for my car I could buy his da (1500) get the gsr motor (1000) get a full exhaust (1000) and his suspension for 300 and have a nice car, and maybe some motor mounts but I cant imagine b-series mounts are all that much, and I’d pay somebody like $200 and some beer to help me swap it because I dont have those tools. Then I’d save up for some nice wheels. It would be a cheap, easy, fun and reliable project.

The K20 will definitely have the better powerband both whp and tq, but the ITR valve train is good to 9000+ stock, so he might have the rev advantage… not to mention the ITR gearing is :bowdown, the red hatch is a gsr

02-04 came out with the k20 200 STOCK whp and 140 tq I believe and the 05-06 came with 210 STOCK and…?142?.. tq

It would definitely be one of the easier and cheaper swaps as far as Hondas go. Mounts arent that expensive… steel ones run about 200-250 with the billet ones being ~300 and up. I also don’t think a full exhaust would run you 1000, unless it was full Ti or something. :tong Of course you would sell the b18 that comes with it and make some money back too… and you could clean up the engine bay during the process. So… do it

Not being a dick either… I know, the K20’s powerband is superior to the ITR’s. Since the cars are roughly at a similar weight, I don’t see any problems in you beating him in a straight line. Take it to a track where he can use his transmission against you, then maybe it will be a different story.
