Toyota Halts Sales on 8 models

Typical Toyota quality control…

I’ll stick with my quality American made cars (German made ones too) thank you very much.

You obviously didnt read anythng beck posted…this problem was caused by an AMERICAN based company that made the parts for Toyota. The ones made in Japan work just fine. Sooo who’s got the quality control problem now?

Does Toyota sell a car who’s engine can overcome its brakes even?

Man do those cars suck, go domestic!

and which american made cars are you referring to?
the Camry? (made in Kentucky)
the Accord? (made in Ohio)
the Altima? (made in Tennessee or Mississippi)

you surely can’t be talking about
the Impala (made in Oshawa Canada)
the Fusion (made in Hermosillo Mexico)
the Charger (made in Brampton Canada)

I’d rather have a union-made American car in Canada than a red-state Japanese one.

You’re obviously not familiar with whatever the fuck it is you’re talking about.

Read this: Kaizen - Wikipedia

It’s a staple in any industry’s quality control segment. It was first implemented in the workforce by Toyota and they’ve perfected it. Since then domestic brands have latched on. If it wasn’t for Toyota’s process of continual improvement methods, GM would be in the shitter.

http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13746_7-10270192-48.html

“With these and some other technical innovations, GM has a fighting chance to meet the federal government’s 35.5 mpg corporate average fuel economy mandate for 2016. And the key to it all has been kaizen–step-by-step improvement rather than a technological Great Leap Forward.”

What if they had 150,000 miles on them?

It’s not even worth it to waste your time. Just because there isn’t a bow-tie on the grill, people tend to forget that Toyota employs 1.5 million people in the US.

Shit, I own a Toyota and a GM. Well, I physically drive the Toyota. As for the GM, I pay taxes.

I wouldn’t own anything with 150,000 miles on it. Old shit sucks.

:word:

…and just because somebody had a 1984 Chevette that they abused they assume all American made cars suck and the brand new Japanese car they bought and take care of is superior.

My comment was sarcasm, poorly translated across the internet. My point was that this could lead to public opinion that, right or wrong, will be tough to get over. So many people, this forum included, discount American made cars without actually having facts or well formed opinions based on personal, RECENT experience.

So what happens if you have one of these cars?
My stepdad has one, i always tell him his car fucking sucks. atleast i’m officially right
he has an 07

Increase his life insurance?

good call lol

Kaizen = common sense. If you have to read up on what it is and learn it you shouldn’t be in a business.

Who on earth DOESN’T want to improve quality while cutting costs?

I remember VW/Audi having similar problems a few years ago. In fact, their electronic throttles scared a bunch of owners due to unpredictability.

You’re supposed to slam the brakes, throw the car in neutral and immediately shut the car off and call a dealer if it happens to you lol

I wonder what the reason for going to the American company for the pedals was?

Oh yeah cutting costs probably.

I haven’t had any bad luck with GM really so I haven’t had a reason to switch, but if I did, I’d buy a Honda.

Looks like Ford uses the same pedals, and just halted production in China: LINK

CTS also supplies pedals for Hyundai, Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infiniti. It’s up to CTS to notify these manufacturer’s that there is something wrong with their parts. So far they haven’t. Should be very interesting in the days to come.
