Exactly, don’t be like nascar and try to make rules to make everything equal. Have ONE weight, one turbo size, one fuel requirement, one displacement requirement, same power adder rules, same tire size.
Then it will be even for all.
you are dealing with apples and oranges though. everyone knows you can’t make the same power with a NA 6 cylinder as you can with a big block. they are fair. turbo cars trap faster NA cars are faster on the short end. they even out up top
No matter how hard you try you are never going to get it exactly even with two sets of rules. One setup will almost always prove superior. Then the rules are constantly changing to try and equalize it which means that is cost teams tons of extra money because of changing rules, or worst case it means they have to build an entirely new setup to stay in the class because the other type of setup is superior.
