Traction Bars

i was always wondering how these work, and if their are any downsides to having them on a fwd car…

im trying to avoid having to buy HD axels… since no1 makes them they would cost me almost 800 for a set of 400 WHP axels, and ill still have traction issues…

where do they connect?

don/lee said they could fab some up for me… but ive never been able to hear the + and - of em

They preload. personally i feel they are a waste of money. Nothing that good solid motor mounts and suspension travel straps preloaded cant take care of for a fraction of the cost. Remember, the goal is to keep your front end from lifting when launching. So some stiff springs/settings in the rear and adjustable straps that connect from the top of your shock tower to your lower control arm. Adjustability helps since you can very your preload depending on ride hight and trial and error runs.

jon, as that may be cheaper, it is much less comfortable for daily driving (the stiffer springs that is)

viper, as far as making them, i am sure it wont be cheap. they need to be properly triagulated or they will bind. which means lee will have to hang out under the car and make all sorts of measurements, then test fit and make sure things are rubbing and binding. bla bla bla

(yea its for a honda)
anywho, you can see that each manufacturer picked a different place to mount the rod end to the cross member ( i said member)
1 will bind
1 will rub
1 will be just right

i found a huge article on full race’s site, and they talked about all the issues u are saying… doesnt seem like anything u can just fab up… right now i dont really have any wheel hop issues, so i guess ill wait till it becomes a problem

its not that they cant be fabbed. but you will need to spend a fair amount of time measuring, test fitting, and testing for any binding issues.

which is something i doubt hybrid will have the time to do with their busy sced.

That isnt the problem, it just as you said, test fit, test fit, test fit, IF you want us to develop a part for your car it will end up costing you more than if someone already spent the time and money developing the part and selling it at a decent price hoping to recouperate their investment

dont trurace do custom tractions bars?

Who is trurace?? A company that DOESN’T exist

80s Turbo dodge forums, tend to have quite a bit of useful info for high hp front wheel drive cars.

i ahve z10 and they bind … insides of my rims are shot … however even with solid motor mounts and good suspension i still ahd some wheel hop … they elimanated all wheel hop
