I may have been completely wrong and said madison and actually meant jefferson, you start to mix all of them up after reading so much about them, and i dont mean that as an excuse, you really will start to mix them up. Ya now that I think of it i probably was thinking of strictly jefferson. But i do know for a fact that several of them warned against a democracy and knew that the idea of majority rule did not mean freedom in the least bit. One thing we must remember is that freedom, is the absence of government intervention. Next time you hear a politician talking about more freedom for this group of for that group, ask yourself if he is advocating more government intervention or less. In the words of Ron Paul, “many politicians use the word freedom quite often, yet so few of them know the simple meaning of the word”. If your reading biographies, make sure you read the 5000 year leap, it simplifies the federalist and anti federalist papers and does a near perfect job of outlining how the country came to be.

If you are trying to bring awareness to your cause and protest something that involves immigration and citizenship waving around a MEXICAN flag versus the AMERICAN flag is the completely wrong fucking way to go about it PERIOD. That ranks up there with the idiots that try and protest things and can’t even spell what they are protesting correctly, which results in no one taking them seriously.

I always thought the democrats were sore losers during the 8 years of Bush but damn…after 9 months of Obama the republicans definitely take the cake.
i find that republicans make shit up, ommit very important details, and just outright lie a whole lot more than libs.
The mere fact that this subject has been discussed more and more frequently in the last two years to me suggests that something is going on and happening. Enough to upset the general public. Whether this is something of main stream media causing the issue or not, the fact is something whether big or small is going on and the reason that there is controversy is because neither side can agree on just what it is.

IMO, that is one of the most important things to remember in a democracy and guard against.
That is why a lot of people are unhappy with the way the nation is today.
