Traffic Ticeket FAQ's.

I have one. Is there any truth to the fact of if they spell your name incorrectly that you can have the ticket thrown out? Ive heard from multiple people this is true. i got a speeding ticket in november in NJ and its spelled wrong multiple places, or is this theory just bullshit?

No. Complete BS.

Probably depends on the judge, a lawyer might get it tossed.

It depends on how OCD the judge is about documentation and paperwork. I had a cop write me a ticket in a car registered to my father. He put my father as the driver and me as the registered owner. It got tossed immediately. It was also a 50 in a 30 zone and I was 16 years old at the time. So I’m sure the judge would have loved to stick me with it if it wasn’t for easily disputed documentation errors on the officers part.

You’re BS!

Ill just pay it. I was coming home from ATCO half asleep and staying with traffic and i think the cop wanted to try and get me for a DWI but when i told him where i was coming from and that i was just tired he gave me a speeding ticket like an asshole. “SHOULDA LEFT THE HOT RODDING ON THE TRACK, KID”. I crumpled the ticket up and threw it in my back seat and said " nah, its better on the street, Have a good day!" Pretty sure he wanted to taze me about that point.

I’ve had more tickets where my name was spelled wrong than right, it’s never gotten so much as a second glance.

True.

You also drove a BMW with fender stripes.

truth

If it’s from TOC your best bet is to throw it in the trash can and let their overloaded court system do it’s thing.

get a lawer, get it reduced, pay, done

it’s in nj, don’t waste your time on it, pay it so you don’t get arrested next time you get pulled over in jersey, it never goes on your nys license so don’t worry about it.

i remember reading at one point that they wanted points and shit to be transferrable across states. any info one that?

I copied this straight from the dmv website

he NYSDMV does not record out-of-state violations committed by NYS drivers in other jurisdictions. The exceptions are alcohol-related violations, drug-related violations, and moving violations committed in Quebec or Ontario. Under special agreements, traffic convictions in Quebec or Ontario are recorded on NYS driver license records and carry points. Except for violations in Ontario and Quebec, points are not added to your NYS record for out-of-state violations.

If you do not respond to a ticket or fail to pay a fine for a moving violation that you committed in any state except Alaska, California, Michigan, Montana, Oregon or Wisconsin, the DMV suspends your NYS driver license until you respond to the ticket or pay the fine. If a driver from a state except these six states fails to respond to a traffic ticket issued in NYS, their driver license will be suspended until the driver responds to the traffic ticket in NYS.

Drivers from other states must contact the DMV in their home state to get information about the effect of a traffic violation conviction that occurs in NYS.

If you receive a conviction for an alcohol-related or drug-related driving violation in any state, your NYS driver license is revoked for at least six months.

He was one if those Dick heads that on his days off wears his uniform around the house and plays seasons of Cops all day long to “practice”. I was going over the limit and all but it was that shitty part of jersey where the limit is 55 and everyone goes 80 easily. I was going 70 cause im used to the normal 65 thats usually everywhere. Couldnt write me for the lower speeding bracket. No, why be nice, had to make it the 15+ bracket. Bitch. Enjoy my 190$ New Jersey, youre still the arm pit of America.

i hate that shit, writing a ticket for the sake of writing a ticket or to get revenue. how come they dont seem to genuinely care for our safety anymore?
