Transmission fliud change

Gonna be gettin my oil changed sometimes in Oct (in preparation for
winter). Since I’ve a daily driver, i’ll be putting 5w30 for fall/winter.

Anywho while Im at that, is there any reason I should get my tranny fluid
or differential fluid changed as well?
Also, what brand/weight fluid should I use for the tranny/diff? And what’s
a good place to get it done?

I got my last oil changed done at Speedy. And I can’t remember when
my tranny/diff fluid was last changed.

Whoah, lotsa quetions.

Yeah i second that…I am pushing about 260k on mine and don’t think its ever been changed. Is this a difficult thing to do.(can it be done at home or do i have to take it to the shop). Also what are the costs involved.

Thanks guys

easy job.
80w90 was wut i used. With lucas gear oil stabalizer.
2.4L in tranny
1.8L in diff
Make sure u have a breaker bar

Gonad if you want to come over whenever your free id be glad to do all three of your oil changes for you all you have to do is supply the oil.

Make sure you have lots of leverage for the Diff. They are always REALLY tight and hard to get off.

Good Luck!

I friggin changed my diff oil 3 times because some fudgepacker told me i need $30 LSD Flud from GM!!!

hey, I recently drained my tranny fluid. I used redline tranny fluid (sorry, forgot the specs, its in the FSM if you need it). Bought it at pacific mall for $18 a liter. I also added lucas tranny treatment, seems to be working nicely, no complaints, although i spent over $50 in fluids (KA tranny take 2.4L of tranny fluid).

can anyone explain this too me:

Differential
R200 1.3L
R200V 1.5L

it says that in the FSM for how much fluid to put in the diff. what does it mean?
