Transmission Shops

Anyone ever dealt with Precision Engine and Transmissions on union or could recommend anyone else for doing gear set swaps?

Innovative said they could get it done but would be atleast 6 weeks before they could get me in for that and im trying to do it sooner then that if possible.

what is the transmission out of? If it’s honda shit, I can def do it. If it’s another manufacturer I’d have to see what kind of pullers and shit I’d need to take it apart.

06 WRX

I’d definately let andy do work on my car…seems to know what’s up…

I’ll look into whats involved and if there’s any “super special” tools needed :). Also, would you be taking out the tranny yourself or did you need someone to do that too?

no we’d have to do the R&R too.

its an 06 wrx where’s the warranty at man

Well the warenty kind of went out the window about 2 months after i got the car LOL. I havent broken the tranny YET and warranty’s only fall into place if the car is stock heh. When you start changing turbos and other major parts, the dealership really isn’t going to want to hear it. Plus the gears im putting in are stronger with a different ratio, so it won’t break hopefully anytime soon and make it a little quicker.

Tom marks got subaru to replace the trans in his car with his own aftermarket gears

HMMM… I’ll have to check that out. Thanks Brian.

I could look into it and I’m sure I could do whatever you need. However, have you talked with mike and emery at innovative? They are the
AWD gurus of the area for sure.

However, it seems that all this shit in general usually goes pretty smoothly.

yea I spoke with them and it’ll take a little longer then i’d like to squeeze me in there and the turn around time may run a little longer then what i’d like at this point. so i’m seeking other possible alternatives.

West Herr quoted me 13 hours labor for the swap and could get me in with in the next couple weeks. So far that seems to be the best option but i’m still shopping at this point.

dude…thats like a G in labor…

dude thats not a easy job g well worth it i hate transmissions

ps talk to tony at american transmissions on kenmore he loves fast cars and its dirtcheap

The dealership is your best bet as they actually know it inside and out and have easy access to all the parts which will not hold you up longer after you get your car in.

Personally I would do it but I would not want to install an RA gearset in an 06 for fear of something being redesigned and 02-05 parts not being compatible. So far every company has stated their parts are compatible with 06’s and alot of parts are not.

Andy, I dont think mike has ever taken a transmission apart and rebuilt, this statement is false.

I think he might be referring to the fact that they might know a place.

innovative said they would do the rr and have a special guy they deal with for tranmissions.

They wouldnt be doing the actual tranny work.
