We might be talking about different things, lol… What truckers do is not to look out for the workers or LEO, its so that 100 cars don’t pass them and they are in the back of the line waiting to merge. Kind of like this
one lane ahead, merge left ahead

Prime example. The barrier they had up at the new 79 interchange with 22/30 or 60 (can’t remember). The southbound lanes had a barrier on the right, so the idiots would move to the left lane and go 45-50. People get so freaked out because the barrier is on the passenger side. If you know how to drive, this isn’t an issue.
Another thing. When two lanes of traffic heading the same direction and must merge into one lane at some point - I hate the asshole that doesn’t even try to merge until the very last second. I can understand that sometimes you can’t get over in time due to traffic, but when everyone else is sitting at a standstill, you pop out into the other lane and fly up to the merging point and sit and wait for someone to let you in, /yourself.
The 79 offramp at Wexford - intersection with the offramp, 910, and Brandt School. That intersection is reason I don’t have a gun in my car. If you get off at this ramp, and know how the traffic pattern works, you know what I’m talking about. The RIGHT lane is for BRANDT SCHOOL ONLY. Not for your stupid ass to fly up and try to cut in front of me to get on 910. Oh, and if you go into the far left lane, keep in mind that turns into a turning lane for Mingo Road, and i’m not letting your dumb ass over when you realize it. The Center lane is for 910.
I’m fired up just thinking about it. I know it doesn’t have much to do with the original post, but since we’re all ranting about traffic annoyances…
How many miles a year do you drive? When you come up into the 25,000+ a year area (I drive about 30k), you’ll get pissed about shit like this all the time.
I like coming off of the veterans bridge and getting onto the liberty bridge. Go up in the right lane, into the on ramps, and almost to the offramp towards 376 until moving over and hopping onto the liberty bridge.
I did about 10-11 years ago. I stopped because OTR sucked (too many asshole truckers that I had to deal with on a daily basis, and truckstop life sucked). If I wouuld have found a local job, I would have kept driving. I love big rigs, just not most of the assholes behind the wheel.
I’ve dropped to about 30K a year. Used to be around 35-40K a year when I was driving to Erie/Northern PA alot. My work van is just over 2 years old & has 55K on it. That is mostly work miles + I have three other vehicles that I drive.
i hate when people dont understand that the right lane is for traveling, and the left is for passing, if people are passing you on the right, your fvcking up, this of course excludes times when the right lane is a dedicated truck lane, in that situation i agree with the OP, move over let the truck pass, just make sure you check your mirror/blind spot before moving over
the all time worst place ever though has to be the squirrel hill tunnel, the tunnel can empty on a bright sunny day with perfect weather conditions and great visibility and mofo’s still slow down to go through that bitch, it never fails, traffic is backed up all the way upto the tunnel, and then you get through it and bam, no more traffic jam, it was just that dbag ahead of you slowed down to 25 because their scared to drive through a tunnel
some dick did that and gave me the finger… so i layed on the horn (didn’t let go) until the cop watching passing traffic over 79 came down and asked me why, i pointed at the douche grid locking and the guy turned white as a ghost. fucking pussy.
use to do 55k a year with in the s.hills alone. talk about a-holes. i agree with everyone on here. dont be a dick head and hold up the left lane. but i do the same thing as redneck every day coming home from n.hills. right lane… boom left lane and then give the “thanks for letting me in but i was coming weather you let me or not” wave.
it’s funny, those “you” allow in, automatically assume they had the privilege.
could easily be a dick with 70+ feet and block all “merging” traffic.
but yet, MOST truck traffic cause less BUMPER to BUMPER chaos
we are long, but stroll along without stopping in bumper to bumper HMMMMMMMMMMM
