First off, there were ‘deals’. Not contracts, but ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ signed by Saudi officials and US companies in the presence of DJT and King Salman. Trump later bragged - “Hundreds of billions of dollars of investments [into] the United States and jobs, jobs, jobs” to reporters. AND Spicer went in front of the press to say “The president was able to make some of the most amazing deals that have really been made by an administration ever.” :gotme:
Second, you may have missed the point. It’s just another thing he criticized Obama for but when the time came fell in line because he didn’t know shit about it. And to top it off, he acted like it was something that he accomplished.
Being a defense contractor that has benefited from this, there’s nothing wrong with the ‘deals’ themselves.

The conditions you speak of changed AFTER he took part in those agreements.
So there’s no possibility that, knowing Trump’s stance, the Saudi’s decided they wanted to keep agreements and discussed with Trump & Kushner ways to do so? No chance Salman talked about reforms he wanted to make to ensure our support?

Edit: I take that back, I admit I fell prey to reading quotes from various media outlets but having just read the transcripts, I am even more assured that Fake News is number one with both the left and the right depending on whether or not it fits their agenda.
