I didn’t know people go around putting fag on their resume. Is the correct spot next to their GPA or their personal information?
What’s so confusing? Someone with major character flaws and historically poor treatment of minorities/women just got elected to office. I think that’s a fair thing to be upset about. Do you really believe that the people protesting did not vote? Just like @theblue stated, this is Trump’s chance to win some trust if he plays it well but his psychopath VP doesn’t give a lot of people hope.
Disclaimer: I am in no way defending the small percentage of douche bags that are becoming violent during protests. The vast majority are peaceful protesters who want their voices to be heard.
You shouldn’t be commenting after your expert opinion on how it was impossible for him to win.

What Trump said about ILLEGAL immigrants was stating facts about crimes committed by people here illegally.
He had no issues with people LEGALLY coming here.
It’s the same thing with his Muslim comments it wasn’t BAN MUSLIMS it was stop people from coming in from countries with large terrorist populations UNTIL they have a strict vetting process in place.
The news spent a whole election cycle taking comments out of context and making them Trumps running points in some hope to make him lose and it backfired…now he won and they’re still pushing the same narrative.
Again people crying about him reversing gay marriage…First off reversing a supreme court decision would be an almost impossible process combined with the fact he was on TV last night saying he was fine with the law
That’s all good and well, but not what I was referring to. He has, on many occasions, been shown to be a misogynist and to have a bias against someone due to their ethnic/racial background. Does that mean he can’t govern effectively? Hopefully not, but do you really think that these people have nothing to be worried about when the highest elected official spewed hate for most of his life and then 18 straight months during his campaign?
Trying to have an actual discussion on the topic here so don’t preach any ‘those stupid libtards’ bullshit with me. These are real concerns for a lot of people in this country.
On the women pay gap thing, I’ve always wanted to dig into how they’re actually getting those numbers. That’s a real easy stat to manipulate the numbers any way you want by not accounting for variables like women who leave the workforce 2-3 years during their peak pay increase years to raise kids etc. I know personally my wife makes more than her male co-workers in similar positions, but she’s the one who puts in the extra effort and is on a management track. If something critical comes up she’s the one most likely to stay late or pop in on a Saturday for an hour or two to make sure something gets done and the raises/promotions she’s had over the years reflect that. Several of her friends took 2-8 year breaks while they had 2-3 kids and didn’t go back to the workforce until the youngest kid started kindergarten. That’s a lot of years of missing raises not to mention how much less desirable you are as an employee when you’ve been out of your field that long.
On the flip side my department is all men but I know some of us make more than others, simply because some of us are better at our jobs than others. If one of the shittier programmers here that I know is paid less happened to be a women would that count as a “pay gap” issue? How much does job performance come into play when they’re making their 80% pay claims? With a large enough sample size that should even out (since theoretically there should be an equal number of shitty female workers as there are shitty male workers) but in a smaller sample that could greatly impact the results.
I don’t know you know what that word means and keep repeating it because the internet told you to do so…
“a person who dislikes, despises, or is strongly prejudiced against women.”
So you mean the person who dislikes women so much he let one run his campaign?
i keep hearing this but have yet to see any proof that can be substantiated
proud to be from part of PA that helped swing the vote in Trumps direction
I would think the countless recordings of him demeaning women would be a strong sign of it, no? Not even just the ET bus tape. Or how about how he publicly stated that a supreme court justice shouldn’t be able ot review his case because of his Mexican heritage?
Don’t be condescending. You want to have a real discussion here? I’m a 32 white male in NY. I obviously don’t have much to worry about. However, I can have a sense of empathy when concerning the thousands of people who feel threatened by a Trump/Pence presidency.
Do you need a safe space?
lol.
Can you not speak intelligently on the matter? Or would memes help you sleep better tonight?
Edit - I should point out that my comment about you being condescending is more because I see it as a way of maintaining a divide between left/right, red/blue, republicans/democrats. This type of thing happens instead of being able to see things from someone else’s perspective and it polarizes our society.
It’s funny how the billionaire celebrity businessman wasn’t a racist womanizer until a month before a presidential election when it started looking like he might beat the establishment candidate.
This guy, getting the Ellis Island award in 1986 along side Rosa Parks and Muhammed Ali is a racist.
And despite being a huge target for sexual harassment lawsuits being a celebrity billionaire with 100’s of companies he didn’t become a misogynist sexual predator until a couple months ago? Please.
i’m also not on board with the pay gap issue and i have heard and agree with JayS’s stuff but i prefer to come at it a different way.
i’ve hired women and have a few working in my current company and in prior companies. To suggest that the Federal government could solve this issue with policy suggests to me that people are saying there is a systemic, market-wide, agenda to pay women less than men. I don’t believe that at all. I have never in my career ever heard any person talk about or planning to pay a woman less than a man for the same role. The same goes for race and sexual-orientation.
There simply is no broad agenda out there where men in authority positions are conspiring (across companies) to do any of these things in any modern business. If they do exist it would be on a case by case basis and likely have to do with individual personalities who are to blame. There is no reasonable way that a Federal mandate of any kind could flush these cases out either.
In my mind, the gender pay gap, racial discrimination etc. etc. all the way to the climate change stuff is just people trying to ‘self-actualize’. Removing their own subconscious guilt for being wealthy (relatively) in a western country.
The underlying angst with all of these issues (other than climate change) is economic anyways… if everyone, or at least most people, had a decent job or had a plan for their future in an environment where they are going to have strong employment prospects then a lot of this shit goes away because you’re busy working on your life and your family and your career… but since that is not a reality for people who dont have strong prospects or for all these liberal inheritors that have no intention of ever having a non-protest-oriented profession we’re left making issues out of things that really arent.
i can only imagine the dialogue between adults in syria… where they could literally be hit in a drone strike at any moment and with no economy and no food… “hey, in America, life is so great that you can get paid by rich people to protest in the streets about how gay people (who already have equal rights) are afraid that some of those rights are going to go away… even though they wont”
No you were just using the wrong word…
Feel free to post exact complete quotes that back up your earlier about his hatred of ethnic groups? Not taking 3 words out of a paragraph to draw a conclusion from.
I had this convo earlier with someone else “Trump hates the gay community” oh does he? “Yea he is going to remove gay marriage” ok well show me links? All I can seem to find is him being ok with it … … … “Oh I can’t find any right now but his VP doesn’t like gay people”
A cry-in would be better…or play doh…therapy dog? Rofl!!
really, this is all you could come up with? People don’t put their disability, race or gender on resumes either.
I’m not even sure how to respond to your terrible response.

So, if this is true, in the goal of decreasing federal spending, why didnd’t we elect HRC? she’d only take home 77% of the $400,000 salary.
I’m pretty positive that a female garbage truck driver will make the same as a male. The female teacher, in the same school district, will make the same as her male counterpart. The female gov’t employee will make the same as her male counterpart…and, if they have equal qualifications, she will more than likely receive a promotion over him
So, what jobs do females make less than males in? Because I’m pretty damn sure, if they do the same work at the same level, that is illegal.
This.
I felt threatened by HRC when she said her number 1 enemy was the NRA. An organization that stands up for American’s constitutional rights.
I felt that Hillary was demeaning to men, especially members of the armed forces, when she said Women have always been the primary victims of war.
Really? Not the men who’ve watched their best friends die…or lose their arms or legs, or suffer incredible PTSD that ruins the rest of their lives? Nah, people who didn’t serve, are the primary victims.
On the hispanic judge comments, he was wrong to say that…but, lets say you’re going to trial for a civil matter, where you could potentially be forced to pay a lot of money…and, you have made some negative remarks, that were extremely public…about women. You find out the judge is a woman. would you feel like you’d be getting a fair trial? Again, not supporting his remarks at all… wish he never said them… but when you look at it that way, can you sorta understand?
yeah i’m with you on this stuff too. a lot of people not realizing how lucky they are (liberals) and that they can thank men with guns for the privilege.
BTW. The Trump fam did a pretty solid interview on 60 Minutes last night… you can watch it online.
Sure.
the ‘C’ for colored people on applications for residency in his properties: (Alleged but settled, which is not an admission of guilt.)

Later charged for continuing to do so:
In a book written by Trump Plaza and Casino president, Trump was quoted:
“I’ve got black accountants at Trump Castle and Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day… . I think the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that. It’s not anything they can control.“
There are a bunch of other allegations, but not evidence. Those allegations should never be taken too seriously, but when so many people do it, you have to started wondering why.
I won’t bother getting quotes about women, we all know they exist. However, I acknowledge your point of the possible misuse of the word misogynist. While his remarks are demeaning, they don’t prove he treats them differently in the work place. The 12 allegations of assault don’t make him look good, but those are yet to be determined as factual.
My point is that you can map out his character fairly well based on recordings and interviews that already exist. Should these be ignored? If you were black, would you ignore them?
I’m confident that Trump is okay with gay rights, actually. It’s Pence that is the problem there. Hopefully he doesn’t have much of an influence on it.
Who gives a shit about HRC at this point? She’s not going to be president and I didn’t support her.
I’m not sure why you are using that analogy, but the answer is no. A supreme court judge should not be viewed as biased. There are people in this world who can remove themselves from their gender/race/ethnicity to make unbiased judgments.
Interesting, so are you saying that Mexicans can separate themselves from their race but Blacks cannot?JK, but why can’t we have the same expectations for all people?
