I got a guy on Facebook political know it all saying how trump is selling out, I guess hes having some ex-Wallstreet CEO in his cabinet? The guys also saying how trump only saved 1,000 jobs from carrier going to Mexico. I just don’t feel like arguing with the guy but the ex CEO thing I guess I’m just gonna trust trump still made a good decision

He only saved 1000 jobs from going to Mexico 60 days before he starts the job or has any real power.

Yeah I think it’s a good thing same as with Ford, but these crazy liberals, hell I think the guy is a professor so it explains everything.

Really? Trump claims to have saved the Lincoln MKC from moving to Mexico, which accounts for 7 % of production at Louisville Assembly. There were no expected job losses due to moving the MKC, because Ford Escape production would increase to utilize the facility. I’m not sure it’s in the same league as the Carrier announcement. It’s certainly not bad to keep the Lincoln MKC production in America but who is buying that vehicle anyway…

The irony of the left attacking Trump for not saving enough jobs yet when he’s 2 months from starting his job as POTUS while giving Obama a free pass is literally staggering.

Would Pence have offered the same welfare package if Trump had lost?

A successful person surrounds them self with smarter people. Hiring an ex Wall st. CEO, in my opinion is a great idea. I’ve been employed by the Federal Gov’t for 8 years and can openly admit we do not employ the cream of the crop. A politician with zero years experience in the private sector cannot grasp many economic strategies… Private companies hate dealing with governments because the work ethic of many gov’t employees, and the amount of convoluted policies inside gov’t agencies.

:io:

think about it… if you have a J.D from an Ivy league school, are you going to try to get hired by a private law firm, where you could easily earn seven figures, or are you going to start off with the DOJ in attempts to make it to AUSA, and earn maybe $200k after years of climbing the ladder?

Same for CFAs, work for the FBI or SEC…or work for JP Morgan??

Not saying there aren’t incredibly smart and talented people working for governments, just saying, if you have skills that put you above the rest, generally you’re staying in the private sector.

It’s the same way with anything computer related its the reason the DoD/NSA/etc all out source everything to defense contractors its also easier to bring people on.

Re: Carrier, now every company in the US knows that they should threaten to move to Mexico and they will be rewarded with a government handout to stay, even if they still move over half their operations there. Trump the master negotiator was campaigning on making outsourcing companies “pay a damn tax.” More like “take a damn tax cut.”

HAHAHAHAHAHAH
HHAHAHAHAHAHAH

HAHAHAHAHAH

You complaining about government handouts…

HAHAHAHAHAH

aahhh thanks for that!

So, instead of 1000 people collecting unemployment and food stamps, and potentially defaulting on their loans…they will continue to work and make products for others. These 1000 people will pay federal income taxes on their earnings, and spend money in their local economies.

Corporations are not people, in my opinion, corporations should not pay taxes, because the gov’t already collects taxes from each person that corporation employs, and collects taxes on each product that company produces. Shareholders pay taxes on any capital gains they make when holding shares of that corporation. All a high corporate tax does, is encourages companies to keep their revenues outside of the US.
