Guy was trolling the media and several media outlets ran with the story. Fox vetted it and found out it was fake, but Tucker decided to have the guy on anyway to see what would happen when he called him out. The rest is history. Since last night news outlets have revised their original stories.
The guy admits at the end that the whole point was seemingly to show how the media will believe anything with very little fact checking.
it is nearly impossible to navigate all this stuff.
The simple take-away is to be skeptical of news narratives and headline journalism. It’s the same lesson to be learned from the election en masse.

I don’t think I’ve watched any inauguration speeches, or really any political speeches, but I was in the kitchen at work and it was on, so I caught part of it.
He talked about god a lot. That’s surprising to me. I know a good portion of the country identifies as Christian, but saying we “need to unite the country and put aside our differences, and god will help us do that” (not verbatim) just seems contradictory.
I’m not offended, I just think it’s interesting. In the same breath implying that we need to put aside our differences, then following that with what the “right” thing is.
However, I think Christianity and really any other religion is just utter hogwash anyway.
A very dark speech from Trump, but he’s taken that tone through the entire campaign.
Michelle was mugging him hardcore after his speech, because he basically just shredded the entire 8 years, right in front of them.
Pretty ballsy speech if.tiu ask me, but it certainly doesn’t surprise me.

He got elected by saying the last 8 years were a total fuckup so I certainly wouldn’t have been happy if he got up there and blew sunshine and rainbows up Obama’s ass. After Obama’s attempts to delegitimize Trump’s presidency and make last minute end runs to hinder Trump completing his campaign goals basically starting the day after the election good on Trump for letting the Obama legacy have it with both barrels while the Obama’s had to sit there and smile.
