Hey, so the altimas have the switch on the left side by your knee… This Switch just stopped working all of a sudden. Does anyone know what the problem would be? the trunk release on the keyfob still works. Its just that switch that does not. Could it be a wiring problem? fuse? (if there is one) or could the actual switch be the problem?

This happened to my friend’s '07 Altima, after he was playing with his Fuse box (don’t ask me why) his trunk release wouldn’t operate. He went to the shop to see what it was (since he was still under warranty) and that’s exactly what they said was wrong - burnt fuse.
dosnt look like its the fuse. I checked and swapped all of them…
Could it really be a fuse? cause if it was, the trunk release on my remote wouldnt be working either, would it?
Anyone know how much a switch would cost? i took apart the switch but it does not have a part number…
i have a 2002 and i have the same problem, and also i cant get my trunk open from the key fob when the car is on
There is a switch in the glove box check to see if its on/off. its a safety feature so access to the trunk is blocked even if the windows are broken (The glove box locks.)
some issues are simpler than they seem…
i tried the vallet switch but nothing and itstill dont work
yea me too, i tried the switch. the other day it started working again and today it stopped working again. this is really wierd… kinda stupid but… would the weather have anything to do with it?
Check all the wire connections…
what connections would you be checking? the trunk release still works on the remote so i dont think its a connection problem…
I guess its a bad switch then, i would call nissan and just ask the parts guy.
