Trustworthy local shop needed...

I need to get my MR2 fixed, and back running, and then sold.

As some of you may remember, it died out on me while driving to work last June. I tried to do some work myself, but was unable to get it running as I’m not the greatest at electrical work.

I am certain it’s electrical as there were some intermittant issues before this that would occur if something bumped into the wiring in the rear trunk by the ECU.

The wiring was done poorl when the motor was swapped. none of the connections were soldered and the were just twisted and taped.

If anyone can point me towards someone who could do the electrical work for me, and get my car running, and a general estimate on the cost.

Thanks!

:jawdrop: :ohnoes:

Carnut?

Is he still doing work?

And yeah Fry, I was unaware of it until I went back to the ecu the one day. Shitty because the car ran like a top otherwise.

i could probably solder the wiring and fix that part of it… but figuring out somebody elses mess on a car i am not familiar on would suck

I have worked on that car a few times. No thanks. Not again.

That there-in lies the problem. I went thru and soldered the connections that were clear. I still had no go. Fuel and turn-over were good, but spark was no go.

I’m really thinking I’m going to need to find someone familiar with swapping MR2s and flatbedding the thing to them and basically have the ecu harness to be fully redone.

It’s way over my head.

Can you make any recommendations?

Ugh, the only guy I know is the guy that did it… and I don’t think he would admit that that part of the swap was poorly done and redo it… I never noticed that until the first time there was an issue, which Don then looked at and said never again :frowning:

Don and I love wirez, don’t we buddy
