Today a few of us met up for some food and some cruising. During the course of the day my buddy called me out with his 2008 Impala SS. I forgot to grab a picture of it, but it looks like this:
My car:
Both cars are bone stock and both had 1 passenger. The G8 is rated 361/385 and the Impala is rated 303/323. The first race was from a 60 mph roll due to traffic behind us.
After that we were able to find a good spot without traffic and get a run in from a 25 mph roll.
They were really good races and those LS4 cars roll out harder than people give them credit for.
After that my friend wanted to run an STI that we had run into while we were out and about.
My friend drives a 1999 Camaro SS, 6-speed, with a lid and catback:
The STI was a 2005 with a GT30R turbo. At one point he said he was running 18 psi and at another point he said 24 psi, so I’m not sure:
The race was from a 40 mph roll and there was a passenger in each car:
The dude with the STI was cool and seemed suprised by the Camaro,
Next up was the same Camaro against my friend’s 1991 Firebird.
The Firebird has a T-56 swap, carbed 355, Trickflow CNC 23* heads, comp XR288 Cam:
Both cars had a passenger and the race from from a 45 mph roll.
Last up was the showdown that everyone was waiting for, the turbo 2003 Cobra against the ported blower 2003 Cobra.
The white car has an 82mm turbo, 13psi, TH400 trans, and solid rear axle with 3.31 gears. The car hasn’t been dynoed yet:
The black car has a stage 4 ported blower, running 15 psi, and supporting bolt-ons. This car made 498 rwhp on a Mustang Dyno:
Both cars had a passenger. The race was from a 40 mph and the driver of
the white car said he let out at 137 mph. The white car spun bad off the hit.
This was an absolutely badass race to watch and film! The owner of the white car is working on traction next and the owner of the black car is working on getting his nitrous system up and running. Rematches pending :thumbup
Overall a great day with alot of fun races and good people hanging out!
