I ran into a white Cobra, we went from a low 1’st roll and he tore away to about 2-3 car lengths at ~100.
I have never raced a Cobra before and was hoping that one was stock (before I raced it). Came up to a light with him and said “please tell me that thing isn’t stock” he said “I got pullies”, I dont know why he used plural there, im assuming one of the pullies was a supercharger one…I think he said hes running a good amount of boost.
turnin up the wick a bit on those cobras can really make them scoot!
^Thats sn8kebite, his cobra is silver with a saleen body kit on it…
There are two white cobra coupes out here that I know of Ted’s, and some other guy who bought it from Basil
ahhh…thanks for clearing that up bladez…i couldnt tell the exact color from the videos that he is in on this board, i just knew it was a lighter color…sorry for the wasted post…
surprisingly I dont think he had an exhaust, It sounded stock. I asked him how many pounds he was running, he looked down at his gauge and said…“A Lot”. You cobra guys can run a lot of boost with stock exhaust?
03 WRX, A stock one will get me slightly, C5 vette slightly > me, cobra slighty > C5 vette…soo I thought it would be interesting to see how much more I needed to get a close to stock cobra. The problem is, why would someone leave it stock! Just like I can gain a bunch of power with just tuning, so can the cobras in that they’re already blown. I was just amazed at how bad he got me, thats why I wanted to post this. did I mention he had a passenger too!OMG. I should have the same 1/4 mile time as a 01’ cobra, taking in account that my time is helped by a good 60’, roll racing is different. I just read 12.9 for a stock 2004!, O man, I got a lot of work to do if I wanna hang with that shit:D
Watching the vid’s from vette vs. cobra, this dude had much more power. I have to keep working a lot of hours and hopfully get some more mods before summer ends.
just cobb stg. 2 WRX. I dont think I’d do to bad against a close to stock cobra with a passenger, which was with that one. That is why I was stoked to see that dude last night. But, that one moved! Im not sure the year of it, I think they got faster in ~2004 or something. Im assuming some people would’nt up the boost:meh:
He also seemed to get a good traction…would his independent rear help him or hurt him?
damn cobras  I don’t know if the independent rear really hurts that much traction-wise, but I wouldn’t think it would help either. All the “fast” cobra guys seem to go with a solid axel I think.
That was me you ran into… f8lvenem… just taking it her out for a joyride to mighty saw lighting and turned back… dont want get caught in the rain with slicks…(et streets)… had no traction 1st threw 2nd. then they caught… supercharger pulley, mac exhaust, programer, solid rear
