As for the not building boost, your actuator is set too low/loose. I would set that at 7 psi with no boost controller even hooked up. It should run that stock. Then you have a good base to run off of. After that, hook up the boost controller, and set that as needed, after figuring out how it works.
with the stock solenoid removed would the engine think theres knock? The boost controller ill fiddle around with and get it working, cause with the bov not even going off, just fluttering, pretty sure there has to be a leak somewhere
Sounds like a big boost leak. Check your intercooler piping again.
Alright, been a while since I posted, but I got my new couplers on (one of them had a hole in it) but the blow off is still whooshing/fluttering, and not completely going off. I removed quiet a bit of shit out of the engine bay - made it exactly like my old 240 engine bay, but its still doing this bs to me anyone have any other options before i get mad and just take it in somewhere?
mmmm
I’m getting very angry at this car, its reaching a point where its going off a cliff.
before you do that give me the s15 turbo and then you can go nutzz on her heheheh
haha not a chance! I dont know what its f’n problem is, I’ll sleep on it and try again in the morning.
im having similiar problems;
hesitation and then all of a sudden bam everything just kicks in.
and my boost spikes to like 12-14 psi but then randomly drops
you guys were talking about adjusting the actuator… how exactly do you do that… haha
You cant adjust the actuator on the stock turbo, you need an after market adjustable wastegate actuator. Do you have a boost controller on?
no no boost controller
Turbo 200…does your car hesitate under boost only? If it does…gap your plugs correctly (mind are gapped to .28 but im running a bigger turbo then stock) If that dosent fix your issue…you have a boost leak or your TPS is either off or brocken.
Twofortyesex…it sounds like you have a boost leak. Before the turbo im running now i ran an s15 turbo aswell and it spooled real fast even ran i was only running stock boost (7psi). When you did the trubo swap did you replace the gasket from the turbo to mani?? or even the mani to head? i know that the gasket from the turbo to manifold is a crushed seal, and can only be used once…if you try to re-use it, it will leak right away. If your blow off valve is not going off then its probably that your spring in the BOV is either on too tight of a setting…or the spring is set for higher boost then what your running…you mentioned you got up to 16psi…did your BOV go off then?? also what BOV are you running? and what kind of clamps are you using on your IC??
ummm well i had the tps checked and reset by autodream, also installed a new maf, but it hesitates between shifts at higher rpm’s… the plugs have been gapped as well… any idea on how to check for a boost leak, or some prime areas to check
intercooler piping couplers.
check if they are tight if,if so then check the if they are cracked.
