What would you take and why.
My vote turbo. Less drag and more efficency!
Also the fact that nhra banned turbos from funnycar and top fuel means they are good for something

What’s the application? That makes all the difference in the world.
any application any motor. i would take a nav 5.4 with a t88 as a drag car
hey u made the same thread as me.mine was before urs copier :tounge:
u stole my idea off of aim tray ur car is slow
Well I can’t vote for “it depends”. 4 Cyl -> Turbo, no matter what. V8, fun on the street -> supercharger.
lol i had the idea of makin the post
its your call. its whatever you want.
i deleted mine ill just whore urs up
turbo has more lag the na blower. blowers are usually instant
leaf blower
With all of the new ballbearing technology in turbochargers, “turbo lag” is a thing of the past.
:kekegay:
I say turbo. Its prestigious.
i was going to S/c, but i think im migrating my plans over to turbo
incorrect. only by matching the correct turbo to the displacement of the motor eliminates lag, which usually is a tradeoff. low-power/response OR laggy/high-power.
BB helps spool but does not eliminate it by any means.
You gotta have lag to have big power, but lag is overrated, once the bad boy spools up its well worth it. “It’s not turbo lag, it’s foreplay”
:naughty:
turbo > * for all out power. SCs are decent for streetable apps that are just looking for that quick fix on power thoughout the rpm band
however application, hp desired and turbo/sc size will ultimatly determine what is best for a particular vehicle.
Especially on a small engine a turbo will outperform a supercharger any day. hell even on a big motor the turbo will benefit you better. a gas milage due to the fact it takes some power to spool a big boy you wont be spooling it all the time unlike superchargers which are belt driven so your rpms are your boost. my friends cobalt ss is horable no matter how you drive your in boost. superchargers are nice specially on a v8 but then again a properly setup turbo v8 will walk it in the long run
Im simply stating that the amount of lag in say, a T-28 Ball Bearing on an sr20det is very miniscule, and hardly noticable as compared to say a Straight t3/t4 on the same motor. (sure the t3/t4 will be capable of slightly more power, but it will come as a lagging price) But yes, turbo sizing is directly proportional to the amount of displacement and revving ability. We’ve been through this before.
Obviously if I strap a GT40 to the same sr20det, its going to have some lag no matter what type of bearings its riding on. Perhaps i should have been more specific.
And on a side note, STFU n00b :finger:
what is really making turbos the choice is the new variable geometry turbos. right now used on pickup diesels, they give almost 0 lag and full hp at top end.
I’m getting back into the Domestics, my vote is Supercharger
