whats the highest HP KA now? Have they been used in endurance racing in any racing series?
just curious
That’s what I’ve been trying to say (indirectly). KA-Ts don’t last. :run:
If they (KA-T) were in an endurance race, when they come into the pit for
fuel refill and tire change, they may as well drop in another motor while
they are at it.

So you think that your SR will outlast a ka-t? Why?
Not sure but because I’m a fanboy and I have this idea that the SR is a
much more stable motor then the KA(D)E
All in due time we shall find out and then fnially someone can shut me up.

Well we all know Gonads SR will last because it’ll get babied behond belief.
KA-T’s last just as long if done proper. I’ve seen the some stock KA’s last 2-3 years under decent track beatings.
Andrew.
Any motor built with care, and research with proper execution can last… but the difference will be in the little things that get done to the motor… rather then the obvious…
^^^ Agreed For Once (I love you Bob )
Anything built properly there isn’t anyreason why It shouldn’t last.
Rick from KA-t.org has had something like a 638whp KA for a few
years now. It’s not the motor stopping him from progressing it’s
now other things like clutches, tranny’s, driveshafts, halfshafts etc.
besides you blow a ka and you need to spend $200 on a new engine, you blow an sr…
You go back to SQ1: KA.
I will turbo a KA some day. If this SR doesn’t keep me happy. :squint:

Not really… swap the turbo parts over and your good to go again. Not the same with an SR is it…

takes me an afternoon to swap and get it running again.
You, 15 days, a miracle and 3 slaves.

15 days?
More like 15 weeks. Don’t you remember my clutch swap?
Whatever the case, I’m not going to put together a hack in a couple days
if I don’t know what I’m doing.
And with anything, the first time will always take the longest.
bah, 15 weeks, you’ve got enough of us that can help, it’ll be less than a week working a few nights a week.
pm me when you’re going to start. i’ll come help pull the KA and drop in the sr.
The KA is already out.
The KA is already out. I’m just waiting on a couple pieces/parts
before I drop it in.
Been a little lazy/tired (?) this week to do anything. Seems like I can
only get around to doing most of the work on the weekend.
As for the offering of help:
I definitely owe back to the community. From the moment my KA
started acting up to the day I had to pull the KA and bring the SR home,
quite a lot of people have helped.
:grouphug: goes out to everyone involved.
I bring nothing to the table. :wiggle:
