…On my dad’s 1998 Ford Contour :hsugh:
I’m thinking it’s the Turn signal switch, but I’m not sure where I would
find it.
Do I have to take the cover off the signal lever area and follow a wire
or something?

check fuses. Did anything else stop working? your going to have to check to see if you have power at the switch (the stick that makes the signle works) if there is then your swicth is most likely your problem.
Ok, so I replaced the relay under the steering column (the one on the
signal lever) and still no dice. :run:
I’m gonna double check all the fuses.
How do I test a relay?
The Ford manual I have sucks…doesnt tell me shit.
for testing a relay:
you can put power to in a listen for cliking or you can take it out and put it to the side and then jump the conectoin. Basicly compleating the circut.
read the relay it will tell you what # are what with a pic and then jump the one that looks like ./. that. you could have a short or broken wire as well. anywere.
Right, I remember. Don’t ask me what I was thinking when I asked how
a relay works.
Here’s the thing. I went to Canadian Tire, and they told me a part # for
the relay I need.
So I put it (without disconneecting -ve battery - shoudln’t matter :dunno: )
Still no dice. A few hours later, I was feeling around the relay (while it
was installed) and I noticed it was kind of hot/warm.
I took it off, thinking the one CT gave me was the wrong one.
I’ll try testing it tomorrow.
