Just got off the phone with what I expect to be the new owner of my Exige…
Since finishing the BMW, I really haven’t driven the lotus much… Usually when I want to drive a fun car, I almost always take the E30… In fact, I put <2000 miles on the car this summer.
(Though, admittedly, I don’t drive the E30 much either… trying to shift away from the whole car scene… and it’s working).
Anyway, since I put over 1/3 down on the Exige, even after depreciation, I am still about 16000 in the black. This amount should be enough to payoff the balance of my 2 remaining debts: my VW rabbit AND student loan…
Between losing the payment on the Exige, the rabbit, my student loan, and insurance, I’m looking to bank nearly an extra 400 dollars a week.
It’s kinda crazy to me to see how much it actually cost me…
Anyway, I don’t plan on selling the BMW, nor do I plan on replacing the lotus with anything cool at the moment, but as I am sure everyone here knows, I have a hard time staying away from fun stuff…
I converted it back to stock for the sale, and should be able to bank another few thousand dollars from the sale of the aftermarket parts.
Those are the key words lol. But congrats on the sale and definitely a smart move to get out of debt. Not that you appeared to be in over your head before, but it’s something a lot of people can’t always say.
Congrats on the sale, any F*CK fade lines in the paint from the decals?
I was debt free for 2.5 years of the 3 years I owned the CTS-V. Every month I made a car payment to a savings account that earned me about 1.5% interest. That way I now have a pile of cash to go buy something with.
I am doing something similar with my rent; I figure out where I want my mortgage payment to be and then put the difference between what I pay in rent to that number in the bank each month. That way I know what I can afford in payments and have a big down payment to avoid PMI and get a preferable rate. Granted owning a house in SE Michigan is still not the best financial move.
My plan is to take the 400 a week and buy a 32" plasma every week until I can replace all the windows in my house with TVs, then get video cameras that display what’s on the other side.
