Well I can say that I am bored with it now. The street “scene” isn’t what it used to be. The track may be a new outlet for me to go and enjoy. I did have a lot of fun last week just being there. I know with Bill back in the game and Pat i will always have people to go with.
I will join in someday too hopefully
Chirping gears and revving at broads is much more fun. But with the right stall the car would fly being auto. I still think manual is more fun. I could see if the mustang was manual and this was auto ok but both auto, meh.
It’s no Civic Si :tif:
I know I shouldn’t of set it on fire, fml.
really?
JT, I just had a chance to look at how much you’ve done and wow… nice work.
LOL chirping gears
I might be selling the whole mustang project to a friend incl my T56… we’ll see.
Thank god for joe dirt!
Sell me the motor.
With my setup now, I should get into the 11s, but that’s beside the point. For a street car which is what I assumed this was going to be, I think manuals are where its at. Just more fun I guess. I don’t have much expierience with this type of car, but I can understand how much better suited it will be with an auto at the track.
That makes more sense. Maybe you will get bored with the auto and decide you need a challenge of slammin gears again… Not likely.
I have to speak on behalf of Jim again on this one… It’s irritating, but at the same time comical when guys have the same tired argument about manual vs. auto when this application is far different than what they have pictured in their head. To each their own as far as the actual preference goes, but it’s hard to comment on something one doesn’t have experience with.
Kind of reminds me about the whole FMIC argument… “Oh that Ebay intercooler won’t be efficient, you need to buy the precision, i know a guy who is cousins with my uncles friend that …” Fast forward, that Ebay intercooler is helping to propel my old car into the 7’s currently.
Lorge, this isn’t directed towards you, just a statement in general.
You’re comparing an 11 sec car to something that should be able to run 8s with an auto
It’s only 3 seconds, that’s not that much faster. One…two…three
My work truck runs 12s lol. While banging gears can be fun, a 900whp+ turbo car isn’t benefiting from the manual at all.
When did I compare my shitbox to this thing? I don’t think my car is fast or impressive, but it is fun for me. I was simply responding to an earlier post where 12 seconds was referenced.
Like I said before, initially when I made my original post I didn’t realize this was more or less going to be a dedicated strip car, because IMO unless thats your goal a manual STILL would be more fun. I’m speaking of road race, street car etc.
In other news … I think the car looks much better with the black wheels for your track setup
The Internet is such an amazing place
This will not be a “dedicated” strip car. With the 4l80 I will have overdrive and i have every intention of cruising, driving to the track, messing around on the street, taking short road trips etc. It will still get 20+ mpg on the highway and then run 9’s at the track (dare i say an 8 is not out of the realm of possibility?) as well. It will be an all around better mannered car IMO.
Thanks Hendel!
welcome to the darkside. Any plans to cage it up?
