Twin turbo Trans Am build and LSX swap Mustang hackery

race car :snky:

Eventually i would like to turn it into a track car… LSx something in it with a stalled auto. Im slowly tinkering with it when I have time and find deals on stuff… Buffed it today and got new wheels for it, not bad for a $1200 running car.

Trans Am looks great and when Joe told me about the deal on your Mustang, you def. couldnt go wrong, even if you just got it up and going and sent it on its way.

Hit the rollers last night, on the 9 psi gate springs.

Sounds great.

Numbers? Tune completed to redline?

Numbers are in the video, 610/626 on waste gate… was revving it a bit past 6k, it got really late, will probably mess with it more today, left the car at the shop. This dyno seems to read a little low, pat’s put out 560ish on it and i believe he was mid 600’s at JD’s, which makes sense as I have read about a 10-14% difference between Mustang Dynos and inertia dynos . Either way, im very happy and I can’t wait to turn this bitch up. Feels nice to finally have it somewhat “done”.

When are you going to turn up the jam flow?

LOL

Just have to wire up the other Eboost2 solenoid. I might leave it as it for now and try to get it to hook at this power level.

This thing looks like a beast.

If you don’t screw with it between now and the 29th might be worth it dyno it at the dyno day for comparison.

Anyways

please don’t compare numbers from different setups with over a year gap inbetween and claim hp numbers to be either hi or low from one dyno to another. lol looks great JT, I hope everything works out great for you and pat.

Nice numbers for wastegate man. I do have a question though, at the end of the video the impeller stops suddenly, instead of slowly coming to a stop. Is that normal with the larger wheels, or could it possibly be rubbing on the housing? Clearly it’s spinning and moving air, but it looked a little bit odd to me while stopping.

Might just do that

thanks! Also not tying to join the “dyno wars”, just speculating based on what i have seen/heard/read. It would be cool to compare though.

I cut it short. When the car was shut off, it actually took 32 seconds for the impeller to stop lol

looks so badass nice build man

idles beautifully… just need some part throttle tuning and the hard part should be wrapped up for now.

I’ve always heard that Mustang dyno’s read lower than Dynojets and the like, but how did your Sierra lay down 286hp? That would be like 310-320rwhp on a Dynojet.

It wasn’t calibrated, we just had it on farting around and the weather correction factor was at 1.2 lol… i don’t think my Sierra would make 286 on any dyno.

2wd? Any mods at all?

Its a 4x4 5.3L , just have an el cheapo summit exhaust on it that was on when i bought it. Its starting to rust out but sounds so good! lol
