This car/setup looks great. Good job
That kit is the shit
Damn sexy piping. Car sounds like a beast!
What are the pro’s and cons of this vs a single? :snky: i think this is much more badass and cooler but… comparable power? spool is faster because turbos are much smaller. but what about up top? these turbos will still move a lot of air i think both are rated for around 600+each. but will you be able to take advantage of that power due to “low boost”? how much boost do you plan on running?
pats car is still turbo and around right? i’d be interested in seeing the differences in setups between yours, his, cougarspeed’s FD or turboLs1SS’s.
your engine is still a 5.7 correct?
my engine bay is much smaller L to R
but maybe… just maybe lol. Radiator relocation would probably work for me as well.
do your downpipes merge into one? or do they stay duals for a good distance
370cid is 6.0l
I was talking to Donovan about this seems routing pipes for twins is a lot easier then dealing with single turbo setups.
This is what my research has said as well, given that you have to have an aftermarket K-Member that has the proper clearance, with that, routing is relatively easy in comparison to the crossover/single larger exhaust pipe. Also the twins tend to be more street friendly and build boost/power lower in the rpm range while not giving up top end power. (This is not the end-all be-all, there’s conflicting views to everything; like most things in motorsports.).
Personally, twins have always been something I wanted to build… this kit is another one I’ve saved the pictures from to reference in the future, this is super-cleanly done and I’m very impressed.
I don’t think that there are any “cons” to running twins performance wise. The only thing i can think of is that you have to figure that you’re buying 2 of everything and packaging is tight. VA speed used these exact turbos and were able to make 1200+wheel before they ran out of steam (backpressure was high, i believe it was on a 427/ 7.0L). These will make all the power i will want/need/my heads will hold down. The downpipes currently extend to the back of the trans. Two separate 3" downpipes. I eventually want to put 2 E-cutouts on them and then merge into the catback. Here are a couple pics that will give you somewhat of an idea:
I have the standard BMR K member and packaging is certainly tight with both DP’s running out the passenger side. If i had the “turbo” K member BMR offers, one of the downpipes could have been run out the driver side and been much easier. Another option is a more “race” approach like pat did and run both downpipes out the fenders. That would GREATLY simplify things. I dont think one would have any problem running a 4" DP through the BMR standard and certainly get away with a single 5" out of the “turbo” K member
Ok yes everything in that post was great information. Thank you !
I know a single can be done on my car. I think the exhausts out the fenders would be the only way to make twins work.
We shall see !
You could always mount the turbos low and just run a scavenging pump. Google the APS turbo kits they used to make for f bodys to get an idea.
looks awesome! This is what i want to build.
hendel, some guys modify 2010+ camaro manifolds to do this:
food for thought
editing my post because i see the picture you posted now. there is only enough width for the header so i dont think a turbo would fit too unless it could tuck somehow. not sure. have to see it birdseye
anyway, enough of my day dreaming
pshhhh power steering, you have a go kart!
electronic rack can’t do nothing about it lol. it just plugs in and the rack is there
if it fits on the right, it should fit on the left ! if only i could sneak a pipe past the what looks like valve covers
edit: or out the hood. YOLO !
JT - I have, as far as I know, a yet unreleased BMR k-member, turbo style but pedestal style motor mounts (See their style for a old sbc/bbc in a 4th gen). The amount of room I have for downpipes is massive.

If you ever get this up on lift take some pics
Call Stacey David up. He can make anything fit and laugh while hes doing it.
Back on topic. Looks wicked, can’t wait to hear final numbers.
Sweet fancy Moses, dude. This will dominate all and you didn’t even have to overnight parts from Japan.
What’s going on with the SN95?
Wiring up the Mustang dyno today. Between that and a full parking lot I should be ready to make some jam mid next week. Hope to give the eddy current brake a workout
How can I get ahold of you? You do not except pms
