I just don’t know how a normal user can upload a 90 mins long video.
All of his techniques on the DVD and/or the school will help in terms of street/track riding, but some don’t apply to racing and/or if you need to go fast.
def a good video from what i watched about 40mins of it
Yea def good video I might actually buy the DVD
great video! I’m not a very skilled road bike rider. This helps. i have been riding from age 4 but never got good or accurate/reliable info never felt confident.
I actually bought the book and downloaded the movie … watched it like 3 times before I ever bought my first bike. lol
Definitely very helpful. I wish I could afford going to Keith Code’s school
Not really that expensive if you ride your own bike, having said that there are always cheaper alternatives.
The first 2 levels of CSS teaches stuff that are so so so basic, anyone can teach you in one 20 mins classroom session. All trackdays from most (if not all) clubs for new and/or basic riders have free instructions which is equally as good IMO.
Hmm next season I think I’m gonna get into track days
I didnt know Stiffler rode an R6
finnaly got a couple Hrs to myself! deff watching this now from the first 15 mins earlier i can tell im gonna learn alotttt!!! might order the book online since the store i work at sells it online i can get my discount as well:)
Nice, I should get a hard copy myself.
Wow, i remember my dad had the first twist of the wrist when I was a little kid, me and my brother came across it and thought it was gonna be a porno hahaha
:rofl
Here is a serious question… how do i know my bikes limits of pushing it thou, i mean i know my bike cant corner like these bikes with huge tires, i have a small 120 rear tire on dunlop k330s lol, and from what i see for my blast not many other options, and even thou I understand the video, I still dont understand the limitations on countersteering or pushing it! lol and the weirdest one of all how so i get rid of or minimize fear IE “survival reactions” because honestly I dont wanna hurt myself or even kill myself, secondly i really dont wanna down my bike, but I do wanna ride a tad more agressivly!
'THE EDGE, there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over."
I’ve gone over my edge twice So now I know where it is pretty well.:crackup
You can’t ride more aggressively if you are scared or worried about crashing, how good is your BP? Do you know your entry, apex and exit in most turns? Because if you push it while in the back of your mind fearful you will be all crossed up on the bike you will most likely crash. Stay in your comfort zone with in 70 to 80% of your riding ability.
A 120 rear tire isn’t bad, you should see the rear tire on my scooter, I get some decent lean on that thing with room to spare on the tire aka “Chicken strips”
Also we will have a track here in May so, I say wait till next season the track is were you will learn more in a day than 6 months of street riding.:number1
First off, keep in mind, even entry level bikes 95% of the people buying them cant out ride the bike. Now take that humbling fact and look at yourself and your bike, now you dont look all that bad now do ya!
Tire size is designed into the bike. The manufacturers are not just tossing parts at a bench and producing a bike. A 120 will stick like a 190 will stick… when its riden properly on a properly designed machine. (generally speaking). Hopping up the machine is next to worthless without skills to back them up. Kind of like buying a new Evo, tossing parts at it and getting beat around the track by a miata.
Like everything, you just have to learn it. unfortunatly fucking up is the easiest way to implant “well that doesnt work” into a human brain. Gear up, remember its only money and machinery which can be replaced, and just respect the fact that you are going to crash one way or another if you want to push it at all.
Break down your riding, just like they did, piece by piece. FOCUS on mastering each piece to the best of your ability up to a point you feel you can move on to the next piece of the puzzle… REMEMBERING at some point you will be back at piece 1 again, trying to get better at it again. it is a never ending loop.
Lastly for my KK novel… minimizing fear. Fear is you second guessing your brains natural instinct. Once you focus on a “fear” its hard to shake. Kind of like landing short on a big tripple jump in SX, you will be timid every time you look at the take off… until you jump it clean a hundred times after and you develop “muscle memory”. Muscle memmory is that part of your brain that remembers and kind of reprograms your instincts a bit. Lets your body fire off commands without you having to think about it. As some point someone will ask you how the heck your jumpping that tripple so cleanly… and you will say “I dunno I just do it”.
All the shit I have done, its a fine line between focusing on fear and not focusing on it but staying intact! Kind of hard to explaine.
What helped me when I started riding was I focus on riding well, rather than riding agressive. Riding agressive is easy, anyone can pin the thorttle, yank the steering as fast and as hard as they can or ham fist the brakes to lock them up. Riding agressive without first riding well is usually just an accident waiting to happen.
Riding well have nothing to do with how much hp your bike has or how wide your rear tire is, otherwise anyone who owns an R1 will instantly became Rossi. It is a mind set on how to prepare yourself to effectively control the bike so it can do its job.
When you can, find the time and do a trackday and I guarantee it WILL make you a better street rider.
thanks for the info guys!! very good learning session these last 2 days lol, I was out today practicing within the law!! of setting the line, IE entry, apex, and exit. and let me reword I really didnt mean agressive lol, That was worded way wrong, but this i mean ride better, more confident, and alot more into cornering lol, I dont wanna pin my bike or push it that hard lmao… its really hard to explain lol, im looking forward to this track opening next spring so I can meet up with you guys and just talk tech! absorb info lol
