Two big oval Enduro races this weekend!

What better way to finish the dirt racing season with a big central New York weekend of enduro racing? Black Rock Speedway’s 77 lap enduro tomorrow night pays $1,700 to win!

Then the next day is Cayuga County Fair Speedway’s Goblin 200 enduro on Saturday with $1,000 to the winner.

Who’s going?

I wish I was, dirt racing is so fun to watch. Unfortunantly I don’t think most of the forum shares this view because “they only turn left”

this is such what i want to do some time… i just dont have the means of getting a vehicle to and from the track.

how much would it cost for someone to do all the work and let me drive?

Black Rock Speedway has rental enduro cars… a whole fleet of them. They are $200 for the event. Just bring your helmet.

Mike

Yeah, I used to think that way too, until I got tired of drag racing after 20 years at it. What a hoot for cheap money enduro racing is! I’m glad my friend talked me into it last year.

wow. nice. i gotta save up for this in the spring

Does that cover all liability of damage as well? i.e does it have to work when returned?

Maybe next time you could post a few weeks advanced notice…

They realize that stuff happens in an enduro, especially with new racers. The cars were only worth $200 to start with. I’m not aware that there is any liability on your part, but as the season is over, the details are no longer currently on their site [like they were all summer].

Where are you from fairgentleman Z? Are these races in your area?

Buffalo area. Yes there are enduros around here.

Ransomville is a dirt track that have them on a regular basis, and most notably their hangover 100~150 on New Year’s day, which is more of a glorified demolition derby

Genesee County has enduros on special days, which allows minivans.

Dunn Tire Raceway park had a Turkey Trot last year, but there site isn’t showing one scheduled for this year.

Holland Speedway has them on special days.

Are they doing an “European” style enduros anytime soon.

Ransomvilles enduros were lame this year, they only had 2 that werent firehall enduros.

The oen at the end of the season they wet the track down at the end of the night (read as a dry packed track covered in rubber with a bunch of water ontop of it) it was an ice rink, hardly entertaining.

Yeah that sucks. How big is the Ransomville track? Is it a big half mile where they feel the need to slow the non-caged cars down?

What’s a firehall enduro?

Mike

yes its a half mile.
The firehall enduro is all the local firehall people put cars together, you have to be a volunteer or a fire fighter to participate.
I’ve been talking to Jeff Aneset trying to get a regular caged 4cyl class down there.
He keeps telling me to come back, but Im not dumping 10k into a street stock again, 8 years of that was enough haha.

Thanks for the links, Z. What happened at last year’s Dunn Tire Turkey Trot, too low a car count to have another this year?

Do you mean euro-rallycross? If not, what’s a euro-enduro?

Mike

yeah, rallycross…

just a little differnet than the SCCA deffined rallycross.

There isn’t anything scheduled right now. The grader crankshaft seized, the course got rough, and no one has taken any initiative to do another so far.

so an enduro is just laps with last man standing wins? are you supposed to smash?

No, it’s not supposed to be that way, but there is always some contact and a spin here and there to be expected in the events [for some people anyway]. Some events are rolling demo derbies though. I’ve heard that Ransomville is that way. The ones out here in eastern, NY are quite civilized though, otherwise I would’nt be partaking regularly like I do.

Dirt tracks are cool, might be fun to rent a car

love the europeans…

this is like gran tourismo in real life, I’ve never seen this stuff before

At this moment, there doesn’t seem to be an Albany Saratoga Hangover 100 event planned for Jan, 2009. I really wanted to enter that again. Last year was my first one after many years of this great event.

Besides Ransomville, what tracks are having a winter enduro race event this winter?
