So I got pulled over in August, for going 54 in a 45. I honestly thought it was 55. Whatever. I mail the ticket in, pleading not guilty. Never hear anything from the court. I call, find out my court date is in November. Yada yada, time goes by, I realize that I have court at the same time that I have one of my public speaking speeches due. So I call to reschedule. She tells me she can’t give me a reschedule date, and that I’ll have to call back. I call back, she rescheduled me for Jan. 27th, 2009.
Yesterday, I get pulled over for expired inspection. (My fault, I can’t get it inspected until I get a new cat. converter. Ordering it this week.) Trooper comes back, after what seems like an hour, and tells me that my license is suspended, and that he is supposed to arrest me, and inpound my car, but he’s going to let me go. Thank god. I tell him that I don’t even have court until the end of January, and he tells me I better call the court and find out, because if I get pulled over again, I’m screwed.
So I call the court today, and find out that they suspended my license in November. I never got anything in the mail about it. (Although, I am having mail issues.) So I ask the lady if that’s normal to suspend a license after missing one court date. She said it was suspended because the ticket was back from August, and that’s considered old. I then asked her why my court date was all the way in Nov. She pauses for a minute, says that I had court in Sept., but they rescheduled/cancelled it for whatever reason. And then I rescheduled it, and I guess they just ended up suspending it because I rescheduled but they put me in as no show. And NOW my court date in January is rescheduled for March, because someone broke their leg. So I can’t even take care of my fucking suspended license until March.
Fuck that shit.
I’ve never had a suspended license in my entire life. How much is that going to cost me? FUCK.
