So what happened at UC on Friday night that nobody wants to talk about? I wanna hear all the dirt.
this isnt something we should be discussing on an openly viewed forum
that bad eh?
that bad eh?[/quote]
ya it was pretty shitty and i dont think it should be advertised all over the forums…
i think i heard what happened after me and mygtr left.
What I don’t understand is why it shouldn’t be discussed. Whatever happened happened. It’s not like the police don’t already know what is going on on 17th street.
And if someone is doing something wrong, they only deserve whats coming their way.
Let’s just keep is simple… there was street racing, and people got busted. Now was that so hard? lol
Yeah I was there but, I didnt even see any cops just heard they had stopped two other ppl up the road I think. What happened on the way back into the city was worse then that but maybe not.
I moved the thread so only NECC members can view this now… so its not really public.
So what the hell happened out there? Any NECC people involved?
…
Well that infamous wheel that people have been commenting on for the past month or so…decided to part ways with the car and drive off up the road on its own.
Apparently he was driving with only TWO studs on the wheel…god knows where the other two went. As you can assume, two studs means only 2 lugs holding the wheel on (or possibly one…not sure on that…although obviously it was eventually none.)
So yeah, his car dropped onto the highway, dragged the front undercarriage for who knows how long and then came to a stop in the left lane of the Yellowhead just west of the Beverly bridge. I wasn’t actually there when it happened. I just came upon it about 20 minutes afterwards.
Well I’ve made you wait long enough…yes I did have my camera along with me.
This is what I drove up to see after turning the Escalade around in the ditch. As soon as I saw it I broke out laughing. I had somewhat seen it coming for the past month.
Then came the story of how the wheel had come off, been ground down by the rotor for a few seconds before detaching and taking off past the car, eventually coming to a rest about a half mile up the road UPHILL from the car.
The original idea they had to get the car out of traffic was to push the car on a jack, in place for the missing front wheel…which sadly would have probably been a safer way to drive in the first place.
Halfway through this episode our good friends showed up to provide some more light. By this point the jack had tipped over and people decided to basically push it forward on the rotor.
Once on the side of the road we took a closer look at the remnants of the wheel stud…that’s right, STUD, singular.
And last but not least, the car sitting all by itself waiting for a flatbed.
oh wow hahaha that is hilarious damn that woulda been good to see LOL oh well shit happens…i guess you gotta be prepared for stuff like this to happen when you take weight reduction to far!!!
haha thanks for the great story matt i knew i could count on you for that but ya found the damages and all the even hit the ground was the rotor (THANKS GOD) so eveything is getting fixed prolly gonna do all 4 corners just in case…even the wheel studs
Two words… preventative maintnence.
I thought you sold the car already Josh?
Heres a before picture for all you guys that forgot.
I’d also like to mention that if you have NECC stickers on your car, it would be nice if you DIDN’T go to the street races. It’s just going to give our club a bad name, especially when cops show up.
its amazing what a few months can do to a car :eew:
You should be thanking your lucky stars that nobody was hurt. All too often when someone loses a wheel like this it heads into oncoming traffic and ends up causing some serious damage.
Josh, I’m going to have to suggest a bus pass. It’s cheaper than fixing your car, and has no maintenance or repair involved. Please think before you drive again.
Poor thing.
Man!! I’m just glad none of ya guys hot hurt that night!!
Never take chances man, especially when it comes to speed, I’m not even talkin about racing just normal driving on the freeways around town… anywhere!!
well then…i was currious as to why Josh had not contacted me regarding the return of my wheels (those front sheels he is running are off my parts car) I lent them to him after the last wheel incedent…neways its good that no one was hurt!
ya sry man i havent gotten back to you on the wheels yet but as you can see things got pretty heptic for me…i dont know wut i will do about the damage but if you would like i will be most happy to pay for them…let me know…thanks
