Ugh, why do these things happen to good people?

Well, my family just got word that my grandma is going to lose her leg.

Shes been having issues with circulation in her leg for the past few years. The recent vein transplant was doing extremely well, and she was learning to walk again, until it became infected. She was being monitored well at her nursing home and we were expecting a full recovery.

She is 84 years old. She has been determined to walk again, this is taking away her last dream of ever walking again.

I do not even know what to say…

Sorry to hear that bro its gotta be rough on her. Unfotunately its a pretty common thing to see when you work in a nursing home.

you work in a nursing home???

:pedo:

shit, i need the inverse of pedo bear.

I’m afraid shes not going to live much longer after. She claims she doesn’t have anything else to live for now :frowning:

I know what you mean, couple years ago my grandmother had her hip being replaced, they fucked something up and it got infected, had to remove her hip and now she has a hard time getting around at all…

she was perfectly healty before that

Well i work fora company that owns nursing homes and i spend alot of time in them. Still not that cool…

That sucks to hear man but look at it as a good thing that shees still kicking. 84 is a nice age to live to and it sounds like shes gonna pass that.

Shitty buddy. Sorry to hear.

These things happen when you get that old.

Sorry to hear though.

shit man sorry to hear. My grandmother just passed away this morning after a long battle with cancer :frowning:

My older brother lost his leg in an accident at work at the age of 20 and was a world-record holding powerlifter at the time. Stuff like this is really tragic. (losing something that can never be grown back)

It is a blessing that your grandmother has lived a long, healthy life up until now. You should embrace that, and enjoy the time you spend with her. I lost 2 grandparents to cancer when I was younger. I am sorry.

sorry to hear that steve, just try to keep good spirits around her…
on the plus side, it sounds like shes still sharp, i lost both of my grandmothers last year to health complications, but it was expected, they had both pretty much lost their minds…and that is MUCH more saddening

Shes in surgery now :frowning:
Time to go to work…

Sorry man…chin up tho…and be sure to soak in all the memories you can as loved ones age.

Well, the bad news is…they did amputate.
The good news is everything went well and she is feeling well currently.
I’m just praying when the medicine wears off that she is mentally okay.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

she can get a fake leg and still walk, make sure you push that into her head.

The doctors said she doesn’t have enough body strength. :frowning:
