unnecessary octane at the pump?

My integra said “premium unleaded fuel only” in the gauge cluster and owners manual :gotme:

I never put any in, because my car had an LS motor in it, although it was a gsr

91 is usually the highest oct that can be required by a manufacturer since Cali caps theirs at 91.

Sunoco in Clarence used to have 87, 89, 93 and 94.
And 94 was only a couple pennies more so I would put it in my turbo Audi.
Now they took away the 94 adn added 91.

Here’s the deal. The mid grade will just give you an equal blend of regular and premium gas.

So if you are buying midgrade then you get a blend of 87 and 89, which would be 88 octane (in theory).

Midgrade in a regular pump would be a blend of 87 and 91, or 89 octane.

They only carry two kinds of gasoline…

Out west, it is very hard to find a place that even sells 93 octane, it is all 91 octane.

Here in Vegas the highest I’ve found is 91. So weird.
