Up to $100,000,000.00 for storm clean up??????

damn republicans…they suck at the weather control. al gore’s machine probably works much better

Finally, someone with a brain!

LAFENGAS is probably correct.
What a total f**king rip-off!
There is still no way it should cost $100 million though.
I would be surprised if it was $50 million + $1 million in Joel’s pocket = $51 million.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

well he has fucked us over enough already why not keep going?

Not really a rip off considering there are people coming in from all over the country. They have to stay somewhere, and that cost gets past to the City/County/Town. Not to mention they’re working 12+ hour shifts in pretty shitty conditions, 7 days a week. But if you and your friends want to get insured, licensed and put in a bid for $10/hr you’re more than welcome to.

The extent of the clean up necessary is amazing. Parks, etc… you know the areas with big fucking trees.

whats per deim in buffalo per day per worker… unless they are doing actualls…

I hear you but if it reaches $50+million there has got to be some serious price gouging.
I have not heard any real time estimates but with all the talk of people coming from all over it shouldn’t take too long.
On the radio today I did hear Giambra say, “50-100 million JUST TO CLEAN UP THE BRUSH”.
With 3000 people it should not take long at all.
I don’t care how you slice it, that is fucking ridiculous for brush removal.

i’m gonna have fun with this.

Daily Rates: (EQUAL TAKE HOME PAY, EQUAL COMPANY PROFIT)

…Union_____________ Non-Union
Std. $57.78 … $36.45
OT. $85.96 …$52.25

12 Hr Day
Union= $806.08/person per day

NON-union = $500.60/person per day

2000 union workers = $1,612,160.00 per day
2000 NON-union workers= $1,001,200.00 per day

x 1 week (7 Days)
Union= $11,285,120.00
Non-Union= $7,008,400.00

So, just for making the laborers non-union…you save $4,276,720.00 a week. (using $20/hr as the hourly rate)

yet the workers take home the same pay and the company makes the same profit.

Your looking at it wrong, you think just because its brush removal that it should be cheap but its not. Like Joe said, they brought people in from all over the country to help, hell I saw Canadian trucks last night, they are working 12 hour shifts, plus the costs of maintaining the equipment (those trucks aren’t cheap and I’m sure a few will break down). That costs money.

To be honest I’m not suprised by the number at all, given the extent of the damage.

mil its like 57 bucks

It doesn’t surprise me.

Nor would it surprise me if they didn’t give us Federal aide for the costs.

We need a chain-gang, or should I say chainsaw-gang?:biglaugh:

Unemployment in Erie County better be ZERO while this clean up is going on.
People are getting paid to sit in their nice, warm and cozy homes right now.

if they plan on replacing any of large trees that were knocked down that will be expensive also.

Forget about $100 million, now its over $150 million according to Joel and that does not include city of Buffalo costs.

I think a lot of the restaurant and hospitality industry might actually make a ton during this though…

Yeah, strangely enough this could help the local economy.
Think of all the generator $ale$.

:word: this is isnt cheap. The overhead is VERY expensive.

Joe just said estimate $150 mil today on TV.
