Well guys after a short arbitration with GM I’m glad to say that my location in Wellsville has Cadillac back and Robert’s location in Fredonia has Buick and Cadillac back. Following the GM bankruptcy last June both of our locations had to make some changes since Wellsville lost Pontiac and Cadillac while Fredonia lost Buick and Cadillac. Fredonia is a dominant force in the Chatauqua County region out selling the competition nearly 3 to 1 so the loss of those franchises didn’t make much sense at the time. Shortly after GM’s emergence from bankruptcy we saw the plan which was an attempt to consolidate the Buick and GMC franchises together and create stand-alone Chevy and Cadillac dealerships. This was more understandable. For me in Wellsville it was easier to understand since we do not sell nearly as many Cadillacs as most other dealers. I still want to be able to sell and service those customers which is why we arbitrated.
There are still some things we need to do before the franchises are official but we should have that done in the next 90 days. Despite this we are able to sell and service these vehicles right now. The only thing we can’t do is order directly from the factory so if someone wants one of these vehicles we have to get one from another dealer.
I’ll update you guys soon. For now, feel free to pass this info along!
BigRon… now I can get you that new CTS-V you wanted!
