Having gone through the NYS Salvage/Rebuilt Title process, the car could be $1 and I would not wish to endure that headache.

Never mind it’s a stick
cts-v…the performance setting of the stability control allows you to drift for miles in the snow with video game like ease.
Thanks ron. Just spent a half hr on that site. Man that 12 black one on there for sale on first page is absolutely gorgeous! !!!
Just keep the e55. Do a e63 face lift, get these rims, star your air ride and eurocharged remote tune.
those wheels are worth more than the car
you could easily get 45-50k mileage at 40’gs range.
Yes buy a used GTR with no warranty and yes buy the cheapest one you can find on the internet…
Do you seriously think that’s what they go for?
Most wrecked ones go for more than $45k.
The guy is asking 58k with free shipping for a 34k mileage, I bet you could pick this up for 50g cash if you walked in to save them shipping cost. 45-50k is def attainable at high 40 g’s.
I looked at these as an option when I got the Vette and you couldn’t get into a decent one under 60
that e55 is really nice looking…but it seems like a waste to dump a ton of cash into a car he is already over
I still vote s4
Ding ding! This is a much more realistic expectation for any car you would actually want to own.
60k is 997tt territory almost…
997tt with miles on them have sold under $60k already.
I haven’t really looked at the market for them lately but spending 50k+ on a car with 80-100k is absurd…if that’s what you mean by “miles”
i have been in it and can provide reference for the owner. he’d take $17k CDN for it. it’s as fast as my supercharged M3.
S4 imho isn’t in the category with CTS-V and M3, AMG etc. S4 is a 335i competitor. It’s not hard or sharp or special enough to be up with the V/M/AMG stuff. RS stuff is.
I havent driven a CTS-V but I have a hard time believing the paddles are as good as the BMW DCT. if you have your mustang to row gears (like i have my s14) then i think the driving experience of the V8 E9X M-cars will be very rewarding for you. But yes the BMW is expensive to maintain… mind you, i do believe they are better cars than Cadillacs and in general have fewer failure points. the 2011 SRX i drive in Calgary breaks every other month and costs $1,200 - $3,000 to refix bullshit that was already ‘fixed’. Also agree that the E9X in stockish form is not as fast or powerful as a V or lightly modded turbo S4 but the driivng dynamics are much better and the DCT is head and shoulders above all but PDK.
I drove the 2014 S4 (when cross shopping BMW) and the value is good but as mentioned, it’s not an M/V competitor imho. it’s a practical, sporty DD but that’s about it.
the E9X M-cars are depreciating hard right now because the F8X M-cars are being so well-received. I’ve seen some brilliant ones on bimmerpost for great prices… how about this full Dinan-spec M3: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1019452
It’s now sold but was like $55k… crazy.
I will not own another E55. I love the one I have, just have a personal stigma about owning things with over 100k.
At this point, I am leaning M5 or M6 V10 versions.
I like the noise they make, the styling appeals to me and the gadgets seem “cooler” than my vintage AMG and the pricing seems right about where I want to spend for now. It will be the last mid-range car I buy before I go exotic.
I will probably take the E55 through one more winter and keep my eyes on the classifieds to find an M car
odd that the gadgets in the M5 e60 a 10+ year old design are that far ahead of MB of the same vintage, not disagreeing just pointing out how advanced the e60 was for its time.
