US/CAN $$ Exchange - Let's take advantage somehow

There you go, I’ve heard a lot of guys buying Jeeps getting screwed once they take them to the dealer for work haha.

That is awesome.

Bump! Jumping up today.

Almost $1.34, the highest in two years was $1.37.

i’m surprised it isn’t higher. imho the USD should be 1.38 - 1.42 CDN.

there are very few positive economic indicators up here relative to the US. It actually feels like there is a delay in the currencies’ reacting to the rhetoric on NAFTA, tariffs etc.

Bump

finally where it should have been months ago.

it should be at like 1.55 now… it’ll get there.

How do I make money lol

Duty free??

CAD is now in the $1.2X range which is right about where here in WNY we’d start to see a boost in Canadian shoppers… but they’d need to open the border.

<- in before Erie County starts advocating to open the border in part to help the area’s economic COVID recovery.

I’m not expecting the border to open until spring at the earliest.

depends on what happens on Jan 20.

if biden gets in they’ll stop the hoax and the media/medical establishment will play along with de-escalating everything

They will be disappointed when they go to the Outlet mall in Niagara Falls, NY. Seems like half the stores have shut the doors in there.

only half? that’ll increase soon.

Interestingly, some of the stores are not open because they can’t find anyone or enough people willing to work.

Imagine that, letting people claim unemployment for over a year and you have trouble getting people to work. At least we’re not paying them more in unemployment than we were paying them to work anymore.

Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act | Department of Labor (ny.gov)

Looking at that it looks like you can get up to 59 weeks unemployment.

They should make people show proof of actively searching for jobs if they want to get paid unemployment. If jobs are out there, people should be able to just sit back and claim and cause our state to go further into the hole in debt that we already can’t afford.
