Some people care too much about money, and she isn’t one of them. $7/hr can’t get you through life, 15 can.
Is that just out in real remote places or is that a pretty typical level? I thought $15/hr sounded like a pretty high salary for China…
Looks like she’s actually living pretty high on the hog:

A car in China still costs the same as it does in the US. Prices dont drop because you’re in a poorer country. The only thing you save on is housing and basic cost of living.
^So everything but foreign cars basically?
Who needs cars when you could pay someone to pull you around in a rickshaw?
Throw some D’s on it…the rickshaw that is
A chinese chick with D’s pulling a rickshaw? Yeah I’d move for $15/hour…
psh, sedan chair FTW
So your telling me someone who went to school for graphic design, which has been the most over saturated job for years before the economy tanked, can make more than 600 a week RIGHT NOW?
Because I can landscape 55hrs a week at 9$ an hr anytime I want.
Exactly, and yes OVERQUALIFIED happens, ask your parents about it.
When you have 20 years work experience chances are you’ll get hired LESS due to being over qualified meaning you’ll cost more.
Fuck I wish people would look into things before posting.
How many people are laid off currently from a skilled trade? do you really want to be the 100th person of said trade that applied for 1 POSITION?
Exactly, Yes there is more money in unskilled labor right now.
Yes I do actually. I know quite a few at my work…and try more like 1000-1200 a week at least. Ages range from early 20’s to mid-late 30’s and make over 50k a year.
And yes you can be over qualified for a job. But when the market comes back around over the next year, they will get what they are worth…and Education is never a waste…skilled labor is also an education just in case you didn’t know.
so your saying your job is hiring graphic designers right now for 1000 - 1200 a week?
not people who have been working there forever.
its going to be 3 years before they even fill the jobs that have been lost this year alone.
If your not in school right nwo for a field that is consistently hiring during the depression, you’ll be working for peanuts or outside your trade (if you graduate in the next year or 2)
I do not hire them. I know what they make though for what my job entails. What I do know is, if one leaves, they will hire a person to replace them for that same pay at least, varies on education and experience. And no, it will not be 3 years before jobs are replaced, they are all ready starting. And no if you are in school right now, you are not guaranteed to be paid penny’s of the dollar…look out side of Buffalo…also we are not in a depression.
okay lol.
just the unemployed arent going to have jobs within the next year, this isnt counting people who worked for a company, got laid off and took a job outside thier field just to pay the bills.
The highest percent unemployed in like 40 years isnt a depression? Highest national defecit ever? Lol.
as for if someone gets fired/quits thats ONE slot, with how many out of work designers?
Point proven
You yell at people for talking about shit they do not understand yet you open your mouth and barf out words like you are actually educated
Question: What is a Depression?
A depression is a severe economic downturn that lasts several years. Fortunately, the U.S. economy has not experienced a depression since The Great Depression of 1929, which lasted ten years. The GDP growth rates were of a magnitude not seen since:
- 1930 -8.6%
- 1931 -6.4%
- 1932 -13%
- 1933 -1.3%
Question: What is a Recession?
Answer: A recession is when GDP growth slows, businesses stop expanding, employment falls, unemployment rises, and housing prices decline. For those reasons, many experts say the U.S. is actually in a recession now:
Another proposed definition of depression includes two general rules: 1) a decline in real GDP exceeding 10%, and 2) a recession lasting 3 or more years.
We will not know we are in a depression until we are well into it.
Secondly, unemployment is still rising, so I am not sure why you said they are starting to hire again.
Anyway, back on topic.
Moving to china for $15/hr.
You are net very bright and worth the time…
Everything imported into China (save gas) is priced at roughly the same it would be in the US - camcorders to cars to perfumes, etc. Anything domestically made tends to be really cheap. I could get a 6-course meal for 6 in China for ~$20 US.
Then again, most cities are REALLY crowded, and if you don’t mind the relative dirtyness or the cigarette smoke everywhere in the cities, it can be an ok living.
so are you saying im internet smart?
I’d move to china for 15$ an hr. I love chinese food.
:karter:
after the winter layoffs, you’ll be surprised how many people wont be getting the call to go back to work.
I dont see next year being any better for jobs, which is why I said 3 years +
lmao at the way this was written
