would this even let the wastegate open? It seems as if the pressure on both sides would always be the same, so nothing would happen.

Looks like both ports go to the bottom below the diaphragm.
There are 2 more above it at the top.
Interesting, I’ve never seen a valve with 4 ports.
id call him out for the crappy nuts and bolts and for the wastegate pressing up against the brake lines lol.
