could a lifter collapse after sitting for 5 years, and cause a valve tick? i may try to save the v6 in the malibu with a cam, lifters, and a rebuilt carb.
hell yeah it can. i remember pewterss sayin that his would collapse after sittin a few months or even weeks.
If it’s a mitsubishi, it’s normal.
LS1’s (& other GM V8’s) are known to have piston slap when the engine is cold, it’ll tick until opearting temperature is reached. Its just carbon on top of the pistons, which burns off after their warmed up. But in those engines theres no damage.
its a 1981 chevy 3.8 v6
O/T but yank that motor and throw a v-8 in there!!!
probably will. tranny for v8 just needs a filter and fluid change. im gonna have to get my driveshaft shortened 6 inches i believe.
put a quart of tranny fluid in it. good to go.
